1. Mythbusting MS-OOXML
Microsoft ha estado ocupada intentando desviar el debate sobre su formato propietario ofimático Microsoft Office OpenXML argumentando que se trata de un formato abierto, accesible y que permite la colaboración de varias de empresas, afines a los intereses de Microsoft, de forma que parece que no encierra ningún peligro. La FSFE está comprometida con este falso supuesto formato abierto, convertible, y accesible de los últimos meses.

2. Primer encuentro Fellowship sueco celebrado en Gothenburg
La primera reunión de la Fellowship sueca fue celebrada en ITUniversitetet, Gothenburg, el 4 de julio. Representantes de la FSFE presentaron el programa Fellowship, GPLv3, SELF, EU y las actividades de Richard Stallman en Suecia durante el 2007. Muchos de los participantes se comprometieron a colaborar con la actividades de la FSFE, y se llegó al acuerdo de que sería útil tener una lista de correo pública para la comunicación de actividades. Entre los futuros proyectos inmediatos están realizar un taller en Gothenburg sobre la GPLv3.
3. Software Libre en el Festival Exit 2007, Novi Sad, Serbia
Los miembros del equipo serbio participaron en un evento público relacionado con el Software Libre y los estándares abiertos en el festival de música de Exit 2007 celebrado en Novi Sad. Ivan Jelic participó en el debate "Libre y Abierto" realizado sobre el escenario de MyExit, del evento público MyExit. Ivan habló sobre las cuatro libertades y el impacto social del Software Libre, con la participación de representantes de otras organizaciones implicadas en el Software Libre y representantes regionales de Red Hat. Al día siguiente Ivan Cukic envío el contenido de la conferencia a Agora, una ONG regional serbia. Ivan presentó los principios básicos del Software Libre a los asistentes, hablando sobre Free Software Network de Serbia, la FSFE y los proyectos y actividades en los que actualmente se está trabajando.

4. Libertad en las montañas: el Bergtagung
Entre el 20 y el 22 de julio de 2007 los Fellows de la FSFE Ramon Cahenzli y Alex Antener organizaron un evento llamado Bergtagung en los Alpes suizos. En un pequeño pueblo llamado Siat, hackers, artistas multimedia y geeks se reunieron para ir a las montañas, tomar cerveza, y debatir en un idílico paisaje. 5. La licencia GPL de GNU de nuevo ratificada por los tribunales
La legitimidad de la licencia GPL de GNU ha sido de nuevo ratificada por los tribunales, en esta ocasión ha sido un tribunal alemán el que ha condenado a Skype por no respetar los términos de la licencia. Skype ha vendido un teléfono basado en Software Libre sin respetar el contenido de la licencia GPL de GNU. Harald Welte de gpl-violations.org, promotor del proyecto Freedom Task Force demandó a Skype. Shane Coughlan, coordinador de la FTF, destacó en una nota de prensa que este caso sirve de ejemplo para mostrar la importancia de respetar los términos de la licencia GPL de GNU, e hizo hincapíe en que las empresas no pueden ignorar sus obligaciones. La FTF ofrece asistencia a las empresas que usan Software Libre.

6. Mande sus proyectos de Software Libres al Trophées du Libre
El presidente de la FSFE, Georg Greve, ha sido invitado a presidir el jurado del cuarto Trophées du Libre, un premio para los proyectos de Software Libre más innovadores y prometedores presentados en numerosos países. Este importante evento promueve la adopción de las tecnologías emergentes, y tiene un claro enfoque a la promoción profesional del Software Libre. ¡Si usted siente que sus proyectos favoritos aún no han alcanzado la repercusión que ellos merecen, ahora es la ocasión de darlos impulso y conseguir promocionarlos!

7. Itinerario para la divulgación de la GPLv3 de GNU
Desde de la publicación hace un mes de la GPLv3, la FSFE ha estado contestando a preguntas sobre proyectos de Software Libre y expertos legales. Las preguntas se extienden sobre los proyectos que pueden migrarse desde otras licencias a la GPLv3, y cómo las cláusulas específicas de la GPLv3 benefician a la comunidad de Software Libre. También han solicitado que algún trabajo rebata falsos artículos, aunque el número de estos afortunadamente ha sido muy bajo.
