Firefox und die Addons

es ist ein Thema auf welches ich schonmal gestoßen bin, aber damlas zu
wenig Aufmerksamkeit geschenkt habe...

Langfassung:
Ich bin ein großer Firefox Fan und die Übermacht der Chrome Engine,
wenn auch OpenSource, beunruhigt mich weil die Leute anfangen wie
damals zu IE Zeiten, nur noch auf Chrome zugeschnitten zu
programmieren.

Aber auch als Firefox Fan möchte ich eine Sache die mir SEHR sauer
aufstößt ansprechen:
Mozilla hat die komplette Kontrolle darüber welche Addons in Firefox
installiert werden können. Gibt Mozilla seinen Segen für ein Addon
nicht, gibt es keinen Weg dieses Addon im normalen Firefox zu
installieren.

Kann man so etwas gutheißen?
 
Ich möchte gerne mal einen Blogeintrag der von Mozilla an Microsoft
gerichtet war umschreiben:

Don't Roll Back the Clock on Choice and Control

Und ich überlege deswegen auf Chromium zu wechseln.
Gibt es bei Chromium das gleiche Problem?
