Actually it is an abuse of this slogan. You could also interpret it as
indignity towards free software. They connect their arguments to free
software and thus they say that they are philosophical background of free
software.
In the next revision the slogan should be removed.

Yes, we definitively should do that. Everything else would be a mistake
(as I explained earlier).
