== Il progetto "Controllo della Sicurezza nel codice Libero e Open Source" nella EU ha bisogno di un feedback dalle comunità del Software Libero ==
L'obiettivo del progetto pilota "Controllo della Sicurezza nel codice Libero e Open Source" (FOSSA) è di aumentare la sicurezza del Software Libero usato dalle istituzioni Europee. La FSFE ha seguito il progetto sin dall'inizio del 2014. Recentemente, la Commissione Europea ha pubblicato un primo stralcio di contenuti dopo le interviste con i soggetti interessati[1]. Anche se la FSFE sta supportando pienamente questa iniziativa Europea, l'implementazione del progetto ci preoccupa. In questa prima analisi, FOSSA dimentica cosa sia il Software Libero; include diversi errori di fatto; ed è stata basata su interviste di carattere generale condotte male. Il presidente di FSFE Matthias Kirschner[2] e il rappresentante della FSFE Fellowship Mirko Böehm[3], che sono stati entrambi intervistati per il progetto, hanno sommariamente evidenziato alcuni punti nella recente pubblicazione del FOSSA. Comunque, guardando da un'altra prospettiva: FOSSA è ancora in uno stadio iniziale e con un maggiore aiuto di esperti di Software Libero, potremo avere un FOSSA che vada nella giusta direzione. FSFE continuerà a seguire da vicino le prossime implementazioni di FOSSA. In questo modo, saremo sicuri che tutte le preoccupazioni più rilevanti saranno comunicate alla EU.
== L'Italia pianifica di interrompere il supporto esplicito al Software Libero nell'Agenda Digitale ==
Il governo Italiano sta rivedendo la disposizione nella legge sull'Amministrazione Digitale che obbliga le Pubbliche Amministrazioni a preferire il software riusabile e basato su soluzioni Libere[5]. Questi cambiamenti riguardano anche la pubblicazione e la manutenzione di una lista di standard ICT aperti che sono usati dalle pubbliche amministrazioni. Seguendo questo proposito il governo vorrebbe smettere di richiedere alla Agenzia per l'Italia Digitale nel Settore Pubblico (AGID) di emettere opinioni vincolanti su interoperabilità, o su preferenze verso Software Libero. Alcuni membri del parlamento Italiano hanno sollevato le loro preoccupazioni riguardo queste possibili modifiche. Il Consigliere Generale di FSFE Carlo Piana ha già consigliato le autorità Italiane sulle linee guida di implementazione della legge sull'Amministrazione Digitale[6], e contestato i piani del governo nella sua lettera su Tech Economy[7] (in Italiano).
== Dalla comunità ==
- Daniel Pocock spiega i problemi di sicurezza con SMS e la verifica del telefono, e chiede quanti account di telefonia mobile siano stati violati questa estate[8].
- Hannes Hauswedell spiega come sostituire retroattivamente un sottostruttura git con git submodule[9].
- Polina Malaja riassume la creazione dell'Organizzazione Europea per la Cyber Security (ECSO) e spiega come molte preoccupazioni possano essere significativamente ridotte usando il più possibile Software Libero[10].
- Daniel Pocock spiega come puoi essere di aiuto nel monitoraggio dei pacchetti in Debian e Ubuntu.[11]
- Wolfgang Romey ha scritto riguardo la sostenibilità dei dispositivi tecnici e il loro bisogno di Software Liberi[12] (Tedesco).
== Cos'altro abbiamo fatto? ==
- All'inizio dell'estate, la FSFE la co-firmato la lettera a favore di una forte neutralità della rete insieme ad altre 72 organizzazioni. La Commissione Europea, tuttavia, sembra preferire una debola neutralità della rete proposta dalla coalizione dei 17 maggiori Internet Service Providers (ISP) della EU nel cosiddetto 'manifesto 5G'. La nostra analista di politiche Polina Malaja ha scritto riguardo la direzione preoccupante che l'annacquamento della forte neutralità della rete porterà a causa della 'innovazione'[13].
- Matthias ha parlato alla Technical University di Berlino riguardo l'importanza del Software Libero e ha presentato alcuni punti chiave del lavoro di FSFE.
- Il team Italiano di FSFE era presente con uno gazebo a Wikimania 2016 a Esino Larino, Italia.
== Muoviti! ==
Dal 1° Agosto, una nuova legge tedesca permetterà di scegliere liberamente il proprio router. La FSFE vuole assicurarsi che tutti conoscano i propri nuovi diritti e sta chiedendo agli utenti di riportare casi in cui l'internet service providers (ISP) cerchi di ignorare la nuova regolamentazione[14]. La nuova legge è stata pensate per eliminare la precedente ambiguità riguardo la pratica dei "router obbligatori" imposti dagli ISP agli utenti. Comunque, è necessario verificare che la nuova legge venga rispettata.
Se sei cliente di un internet provider Tedesco, ti chiediamo di esercitare il tuo nuovo diritto e di usare un dispositivo alternativo, possibilmente uno che usi Software Libero. Per favore mandaci un feedback se incontri qualche problema con il nuovo router e aiutaci a collezionarli nella nostra pagina wiki[15]. == Buone notizie dal Free Software ==
La Commissione Europea premierà le soluzioni IT che sono state sviluppate e condivise nella pubblica amministrazione, e che possono essere riutilizzate anche in Europa grazie all'adozione di Licenze Libere[16]. Adullact, l'organizzazione Francese per l'utilizzo del software libero nella pubblica amministrazione, ha creato Comptoir-du- Libre.org, un sito che si prefigge di aiutare i responsabili IT nel passaggio al Software Libero[17]. Il consiglio comunale della città Spagnola di Ciudad Real ha votato a favore di una risoluzione che porterà i 400 computer dell'amministrazione cittadina ad usare Software Libero[18] (Spagna). La Fondazione Tedesca per il Sapere Libero, in collaborazione con il Ministero per l'Educazione e la Ricerca, hanno avviato il fondo Prototype[19], il quale supporta i progetti di Software Libero con somme fino a €30.000, disponibili per chiunque abbia la residenza in Germania.
