auch in Franken soll es in Zukunft ein regelmäßiges Fellowship-Treffen
geben. Die neue Gruppe wird sich zum ersten Mal am 9. Mai 2015 um
19:00 Uhr in Bamberg treffen. Zu diesem Treffen seid ihr herzlich

== Das Recht, andere Software auf seinem Computer zu installieren ==
Safecast ist ein globales Projekt, um Strahlungsdaten von überall auf
der Welt zu erfassen und diese Informationen öffentlich bereitzustellen.
Beim Start des Projekts nutzte Safecast angepasste Hardware in
Kombination mit eigens geschriebener Software und einigen cleveren
Kniffen, um es jedem zu ermöglichen, beim Projekt mitzuwirken. Dieser
Einfallsreichtum, diese Fähigkeit, eine bestehende Technologie durch das
Ersetzen oder Erweitern der bestehenden Software anzupassen, sollte in
Zukunft durch Gesetze erlaubt und gefördert werden. Im Beispiel von
Safecast hat sie glücklicherweise niemand davon abgehalten, innovativ zu
sein.
Aber um unsere Sicherheit, Privatsphäre und Komfort zu erhöhen, brauchen
wir alle die Möglichkeit, Programme, die wir täglich nutzen, zu
installieren oder zu ersetzen. Auch wenn wir einfach nur ein anderes
Programm auf unserem Laptop, Tablet, Mobiltelefon, Router, Fernseher,
Auto oder anderem Gerät nutzen wollen.
Heute, am internationalen Tag gegen DRM, rufen die unterzeichnenden
Organisationen die Legislative auf, das Recht auf Tüfteln für jeden zu
sichern. Damit es jeder Eigentümerin eines Endgerätes erlaubt ist,
Software auf besagtem Gerät zu ersetzen oder zu erweitern, und somit der
Nutzer ermächtigt wird, sein Eigentum zu kontrollieren. Viele
Hersteller versehen ihre Geräte heute mit zusätzlichen technologischen
Einschränkungen, die die Eigentümer davon abhalten, ihr Gerät selbst
oder durch Hilfe anderer anzupassen. Das kann zu einer Lizenzverletzung
führen (wie bei den Lizenzen von Freier Software/Open Source Sofware,
die dazu berechtigen, die Software zu jedem Zweck zu verwenden, zu
verstehen, zu verbreiten und zu verbessern). Es ist eindeutig, dass
jegliches Recht auf Tüfteln mit einer gesetzlichen Regelung einhergehen
muss, die eine technologische Einschränkung ebendieses Rechts
verhindert.
Um zu gewährleisten, dass Geräteeigentümer die Kontrolle über ihre
eigene Technologie haben, fordern die folgenden Organisationen, dass
jedem das Recht auf Tüfteln zugestanden wird und dass technologische
Einschränkungen, die mit diesem Recht in Konflikt stehen, gesetzlich
eingeschränkt werden.

== Ein geheimer Freier-Software-Handlungsplan von der Europäischen Kommission ==
Die Europäische Kommission hat eine neue Version ihrer Strategie über
den internen Gebrauch von Freier Software veröffentlicht. Die FSFE hat
während der Aktualisierungsphase die Kommission unterstützt. Die
Strategie ist der vorherigen Version zum Großteil ähnlich. Es gibt aber
auch einige Verbesserungen[1].
Anders als bei den früheren Versionen hat die Strategie jetzt einen
Handlungsplan mit im Gepäck, der darauf abzielt, die Strategie in der
Praxis umzusetzen. Dieser Plan ist jedoch nicht öffentlich. Dadurch ist
es nicht möglich, den Fortschritt der Kommission in Richtung ihres Ziels
zu überprüfen. Wir würden es begrüßen, wenn die Kommission diesen
Handlungsplan bald veröffentlicht.
== Gesetzesinterpretation schränkt Freie Software in der Schweiz ein ==
Das Ziel der FSFE ist es, dass Software, die mit Steuergeldern
entwickelt wurde, auch als Freie Software veröffentlicht werden muss.
Dadurch würde die öffentliche Verwaltung auch einen fairen IT-Markt
anregen und stärken.
In der Schweiz herrscht momentan Unsicherheit bezüglich der Entwicklung
und Veröffentlichung Freier Software bei Vertragspartnern der
öffentlichen Verwaltung. Der Auslöser hierfür war die Entwicklung und
Veröffentlichung der Software „OpenJusticia“ durch das Bundesgericht
(das oberste Gericht der Schweizerische Eidgenossenschaft). Der
Bundesrat will nun prüfen lassen, ob die Veröffentlichung von Freier
Software durch die Bundesverwaltung explizit erlaubt werden kann. Die
FSFE fordert hierfür eine Klärung[2], damit öffentlich finanzierte
Software auch legal und eindeutig als Freie Software veröffentlicht
werden kann.
== Weltweit 63 Veranstaltungen für Offene Standards ==
Auch dieses Jahr wieder haben sich freiwillige Helfer in der ganzen Welt
und internationale Organisationen sowie Politiker und öffentliche
Dienstleister zusammen getan und unsere Forderung nach Freien Dokumenten
unterstützt. Zum globalen Document Freedom Day fanden 63 Veranstaltungen
in 31 Ländern auf vier Kontinenten statt. Lesen Sie unseren Bericht von
2015[3], um mehr über politische Aktivitäten, neue Comics und
Illustrationen zu erfahren oder sich die Bilder der Veranstaltungen,
einschließlich der leckeren DFD-Kuchen, anzuschauen.
== Etwas gänzlich anderes ==
- Wir veröffentlichten eine Stellungnahme zur geänderten Beziehung
zwischen der FSFE und Kern Sibbald[4]. Wenn Sie ein Entwickler sind,
der an Bacula mitgearbeitet hat, empfehlen wir zu prüfen, welchen
treuhänderischen Lizenzbestimmungen Sie zugestimmt haben. Stellen Sie
sicher, dass Sie verstehen, wie Sie diese Änderung beeinflusst. Wenn
Sie sich nicht sicher sind, können Sie uns gerne eine E-Mail
schreiben. Wir unterstützen Sie bestmöglichst. Bitte lesen Sie auch
unsere FAQ zu diesem Thema[5].
- Am 6. Mai 2015 organisiert die FSF den internationalen Tag gegen DRM.
Sie können noch einige DRM-Flyer ausdrucken[6], diese am
Veranstaltungstag verteilen und mit Freunden und Kollegen über die
Gefahren von Maßnahmen zur digitalen Rechteminderung sprechen.
Kürzlich zeigte die FSF die Probleme mit den neuen Apple-Produkten
auf[7], die proprietäre Software und Technologien zur Digitalen
Rechteminderung in ihren Produkte und Dienstleistungen verwenden.
- Die Grünen in Deutschland wollen[8], dass die Regierung die
Unterstützung für Freie Software verstärkt. Die FSFE half der Partei,
eine Anfrage ans Parlament über die Umstellung zu nicht-freier
Software im Auswärtigen Amt zu stellen. Sie können uns helfen, die
Antworten der Regierungen auszuwerten[9].
- Guido Arnold hielt einen Vortrag über das Bildungs-Team der FSFE bei
den Chemnitzer Linuxtagen. Das Video „Vorteile + Hindernisse Freier
Software in der Bildung (CLT 2015)“ ist jetzt online[10] (Sie können
zum Beispiel youtube-dl zum Download nutzen).
- Vom FSFE Planet[11], der Sammlung von Blogeinträgen zur FSFE:
- Paul Boddie schrieb einen detaillierten Blogeintrag darüber, warum
Offene Hardware und Freie Software nicht nur etwas für Geeks
ist[12].
- Franz Gratzer veröffentlichte einen Offenen Brief an
everymothercounts.org über ihre Apple-Werbung[13].
- Mirko Böhm fasste seine Erfahrungen mit dem Parsen von Emacs
OrgMode Dateien, der EU Patent Debatte, und seinem Urlaub
zusammen[14].
- Riccardo (ruphy) Iaconelli kündigte an, dass er wieder als Blogger
aktiv ist[15], nachdem er bei CERN forschte und WikiFM einführte.
- Und Ihr Autor erklärte, wie Sie mehrere Links auf Android teilen
können[16].
== Werde aktiv: Überprüfe die restliche Werbung für unfreie Software ==
Wir sind gerade dabei, unsere PDF-Betrachter-Kampagne abzuschließen und
benötigen Ihre Unterstützung, um unseren Erfolg zu messen.
Die Kampagne wurde 2009 mit dem Ziel von der FSFE gestartet, Werbung für
proprietäre PDF Betrachter zu entfernen. Wir fokussierten uns auf die
Webseiten der öffentlichen Verwaltung. Viele haben uns geholfen,
Kontaktdaten von über 2000 öffentlichen Webseiten, die nicht-freie
Software bewarben, zu sammeln. Wir wurden beim Kontaktieren der
öffentlichen Verwaltungen unterstützt, und Regierungen wurden
informiert, die dann neue Richtlinien herausgaben. Bis zum heutigen Tag
wissen wir von 722 der ursprünglich 2110 Werbefällen, die behoben
wurden; das ist eine Erfolgsrate von 36%.
Für viele Länder haben wir jedoch den Status schon einige Monate nicht
mehr überprüft. Deshalb brauchen wir noch einmal Ihre Hilfe für diese
letzte Runde. Wir suchen nach Freiwilligen, die uns dabei unterstützen,
Webseiten in ihrer Muttersprache durchzusehen und der Schritt-für-
Schritt Anleitung am Ende des Blogeintrags[17] Ihres Autors zu folgen.

ich war von 1991 bis 2012 an dem Versuch beteiligt, in NRW im Regierungsbezirk
Düsseldorf in der Lehrerausbildung im Vorbereitungsdienst die angehenden
Lehrerinnen und Lehrer auf den sachgerechten Umgang mit den digitalen Medien
im Unterricht vorzubereiten. Das lief unter der Überschrift "Projekt
Urteilskraft". Darum geht es für mich auch heute noch. Wenn die Lehrerinnen
und Lehrer über Urteilskraft in Sachen digitale Medien beim Eintritt in den
Schuldienst verfügen, dann ist es zur Verwendung Freier Software nicht mehr
weit. Es sei denn, die Lehrerinnen und Lehrer haben das Ziel aufgegeben, bei
den Schülern Urteilskraft und Kritikfähigkeit und die Befähigung zur
Selbstbestimmung herauszubilden. Ob sie dann allerdings ausgerechnet im
Bereiche Digitale Medien über Urteilskraft verfügen, bezweifle ich. Hat man
diese Ziele aufgegeben, kann man natürlich M$ oder Apple verwenden und
insbesondere beim Einsatz von Apple-Produkten sich ganz toll und weit vorne
fühlen.
In dem Projekt ist durchaus Wirkung im Sinne freier Software erzielt worden,
Nachhaltigkeit aber wohl nicht. Aus meiner Sicht lag das daran (WDZimmermann
mag mich korrigieren), daß es ein Kampf gegen die meisten anderen
Bezirksregierung und das Schulministerium war, die das höchstens neutral oder
amüsiert beobachtet oder behindert haben. Die notwendigen sächlichen und
personellen Ressourcen z.B. sind nie bereit gestellt worden. Das wichtigste
Versäumnis allerdings war, daß es nie gelungen ist, die notwendige kritische
Masse von Leuten zu überzeugen, so daß sich das Projekt selbst getragen hätte.
Das ist für mich auch heute noch das ungelöste Schlüsselproblem. U.A. zeigt
Wikipedia, daß das möglich ist.
Das man sich auf die Bildungsadministration nicht verlassen sollte und kann,
ist klar. Das Beispiel München zeigt aber, wie man breite Wirkung erzielen
kann, wenn Schlüsselpersonen, hier wohl Herr Ude, ein Projekt aktiv fördern.
Die erzielte Wirkung ist so groß, das es sehr schwer zu sein scheint, Limux
wieder zu entsorgen, nachdem dort wieder die digitale Dummheit regiert. Wenn
man also eine Chance sieht, die Administration auf welcher Ebene auch immer
mit ins Boot zu bekommen, sollte man das tun.

Bahnhofsgebäude des (Düsseldorf-)Gerresheimer Bahnhofes; es ist also mit
dem öffentlichen Verkehr gut erreichbar.
Statt des geplanten Vortrages von Jan Ulrich Hasecke nicht nur über das
Python-Dokumentationstool Sphinx http://sphinx-doc.org/, sondern unter

auch darüber, welchen Stellenwert die Dokumentation in einem
Software-Projekt einnehmen sollte, wird es wegen einer Erkrankung des
Referenten folgenden Vortrag geben:
Werner Koch, Mitgründer der FSFE, wird unter dem Titel
" Wissenswertes über GnuPG 2.1"
referieren.
GnuPG existiert inzwischen seit 17 Jahren und ist nicht nur in der
Unixwelt ein alter Bekannter. Der Vortrag beschreibt einige der
Neuheiten, die mit Version 2.1 neu eingeführt wurden. Vor allem wird er
auf folgende drei Punkte eingehen:
Remote Use: Ein wesentliches Bestreben bei der Entwicklung der 2er
Version war der verbesserter Schutz des privaten Schlüssels. Mit 2.1
ist es nun möglich GPG (für OpenPGP) oder GPGSM (für S/MIME) auf einem
Server einzusetzen jedoch die Schlüssel auf dem eigenen Desktop zu
belassen oder dort auch Smartcard basierte Schlüssel zu verwenden.
Dieses Feature ist immer dann interessant, wenn große Datenmengen auf
einem Server zu entschlüsseln oder zu signieren sind.
SSH: Obgleich schon seit vielen Jahren vorhanden, ist die
plattformübergreifende SSH-Agent-Implementation in GnuPG eher noch ein
Geheimtip. Das sollte sich ändern.
ECC: Seit Jahren ist bekannt, dass das RSA-Verfahren für zukunftssichere
Verschlüsselung nicht mehr ausreichen wird, da die Schlüssel zu groß und

migrieren deswegen langsam hin zu elliptischen Kurven. Der Vortrag
erläutert, welche Varianten und Kurvenparameter in GnuPG implementiert
worden sind.
Gäste sind bei diesem Treffen wie immer herzlich willkommen.
Da wir noch einige Fellowshiptreffen in diesem Jahr haben, wird Jan
Ulrich Gelegenheit haben, den ankündigten interessanten Vortrag
"nachzuholen". Aufgeschoben ist nicht aufgehoben!

Der Termin ist Donnerstag der 14. Mai 2015 (Himmelfahrt) in der Kalkscheune
Berlin. Von 10 bis 17 Uhr dreht sich in Vorträgen, Workshops und
Diskussionen
alles um spannende Zukunftstechnologien und Gesellschaftsfragen von
Urheberrecht und Patenten für Firmengründer und Unternehmen über Open
Hardware
zum Selberbauen (die eigene TV-Fernbedienung, Strickmaschine oder
Ampelschaltung), Enzyklopädien, Software (Linux, Websites, Cloudsysteme) und
Freifunknetze. Für Kinder und Technik-Begeisterte gibt es Workshops. Und, am
Abend findet einer Himmelfahrt-Lounge-Party statt.

Der OpenTechSummit bietet die Möglichlichkeit die neuen Offene
Technologien zu
erfahren und neue Ideen, Projekte, Gesellschaftsutopien, Produktions- und
Geschäftsmodelle zu entwickeln. Es geht um Lernen zu Sharen und mit Offener
Kultur zu experimentieren. Wir bringen Communities, Start-Ups, Unternehmen,
Software-Developer, Hardware-Maker und Studenten zusammen und schaffen einen
Brückenschlag zwischen Wirtschaft und Politik.
Es gibt ein Barcamp-Track und fünf vorgeplante Tracks bringen für die
Teilnehmer Ordnung in der thematischen Vielfalt der schönen Offenen
Technologischen Welt.

Organisiert wird der Event unter Führung des Fördervereins für eine Freie

erste OpenTechSummit fand bereits 2009 in Taiwan statt.

Die FSFE kommt auch kurz drin vor:
Mehrere Behörden mit höherem Schutzniveau nutzen Coreboot, teilt ein
BSI-Sprecher mit. Doch eigentlich ist Coreboot nicht nur etwas für den
Hochsicherheitsbereich, wie Matthias Kirschner erläutert, Berliner
Büroleiter der Free Software Foundation Europe. Kirschner verweist auf
ein 2012 veröffentlichtes Eckpunktepapier der Bundesregierung zur
Computersicherheit.
"Die Anforderungen der Bundesregierung sind, dass die Bundesregierung
als Eigentümer von den ganzen Computern die alleinige und volle
Kontrolle über diese Computer haben kann. So wie jetzt die
Implementierungen von UEFI sind, ist es so, dass das nicht gegeben
ist."
