Matthias Kirschner ist neuer Päsident und Alessandro Rubini ist neuer
Vizepräsident der FSFE. Beide wurden letzte Woche in Bukarest bei der
Hauptversammlung der FSFE gewählt. Reinhard Müller wurde als
Finanzleiter wiedergewählt. Alle drei werden ihre Positionen innerhalb
der FSFE für die nächsten zwei Jahre bekleiden.
Matthias Kirschner ist seit 2009 bei der FSFE angestellt. 1999 begann er
GNU/Linux zu nutzen und erkannte, dass Software in allen Bereichen
unseres Lebens tief verwurzelt ist. Matthias ist davon überzeugt, dass
diese Technik unsere Gesellschaft nicht einschränken, sondern sie die
Gesellschaft befähigen muss. Während seines Studiums der Politik- und
Verwaltungswissenschaft überzeugte er die FSFE im Jahr 2004, ihn als den
allerersten Praktikannten der FSFE einzustellen. Seither unterstützt er
Organisationen, Unternehmen und Öffentliche Verwaltungen dabei, dass sie
von Freier Software profitieren können und er erklärt wie die
grundlegenden Rechte von Freier Software -- das Recht sie zu verwenden,
zu verstehen, zu verbreiten und zu verbessern -- die Meinungsfreiheit,
die Pressefreiheit oder die Privatsphäre fördern.
Matthias verbringt gerne viel Zeit mit seinem kleinen Sohn. In seiner
Freizeit hilft er bei Erste-Hilfe-Outdoor-Seminaren, mag Comics wie XKCD
und Transmetropolitan, Monty Python und Die Ärzte.
Alessandro Rubini ist Elektroingenieur und promovierter Informatiker. Er
installierte Linux 0.99.14, ist ein aktiver Freier-Software-Nutzer und
-Entwickler und Autor des Buchs "Linux Device Drivers". Nach seiner
Promotion verließ er die Universtität, da er nicht nur wissenschaftliche
Artikel schreiben wollte. Er arbeitet jetzt als unabhängiger Berater im
Bereich industrielle Nutzung von GNU/Linux; hauptsächlich für
Gerätetreiber und eingebettete Systeme sowie Microcontroller und PCB
Konstruktionen. Kürzlich arbeitete Alessandro beim CERN im "White
Rabbit" Projekt, welches die Weniger-als-Nanosekunden-Synchronisation
von I/O Karten zum Ziel hatte. Er arbeitet gerne für das CERN, da dieses
alle Arbeitergebnisse als Freie Software und Freie Hardware
veröffentlicht.
Alessandro war bereits von 2001 bis 2006 Mitglied der Free Software
Foundation Europe und trat der FSFE kürzlich erneut bei. Er ist
überzeugt, dass die FSFE der richtige Platz für eine optimistische und
konstruktive Diskussion zu Freier Software ist. Neben seinem Ehrenamt in
der FSFE und anderen Freie-Software-Organisationen ist er ein aktiver
Pfadfinder, fährt gerne Fahrrad, ist Vater von zwei Kindern und hört
Weißes Rauschen während seiner Arbeit.
"Ich freue mich Matthias und Alessandro in ihrern neuen Rolle
willkommen heißen zu können," sagt Jonas Öberg, Geschäftsführer der
FSFE. "Beide haben die Organisation bereits in ihrer jetztigen Form
bedeutend geprägt und ich freue mich auf ihre Expertise, die beide

FSFE in Franken von ca. 10:00 Uhr bis ca. 17:30 Uhr einen Stand zum
Software Freedom Day in Bamberg am Maxplatz haben. Anschließend (ab
ca. 18:30 Uhr) wird es noch ein verkürztes Fellowship-Treffen im

Anlässlich der Schweizer Parlamentswahlen (Nationalrat- /
Ständeratswahlen) am 18. Oktober 2015 startet die FSFE Schweiz heute die
Kampagne „Freedomvote“[1] in Zusammenarbeit mit der “Swiss Open Systems
User Group“ (/ch/open). Freedomvote bietet allen Interessierten ein
Onlineportal, welches die zur Wahl stehenden KandidatInnen und deren
Position bezüglich Netzpolitik, Freie Software und offene Datenformate
listet.
Die Freedomvote Kampagne möchte Wählenden eine Entscheidungshilfe über
die zur Wahl stehenden Kandidaten bieten. Für viele Wählende ist es
heute interessant, was Kandidierende über gewisse Aspekte von
Netzpolitik denken, zum Beispiel Freiheit und Nutzerrechte im digitalen
Zeitalter. Dennoch versuchen viele PolitikerInnen immer noch derartige
Themen zu umgehen. Mit der Freedomvote Kampagne möchte die FSFE Schweiz
das ändern und Netzpolitik und das Thema Freie Software auf die
politische Agenda bringen. Alle Kandidierenden sind eingeladen,
verschiedene, auch verbraucherrechtlich relevante Fragen zu E-Voting
Netzneutralität, Open Data, Offene Dateiformate und Bildungsmaterialien,
Freier Software und Verschlüsselung zu beantworten. Zudem haben die
KandidatInnen die Möglichkeit, ihre eigene Position in eigenen Worten
durch ein freies Textfeld darzulegen. Diese Antworten und Positionen der
Kandidierenden können als eine Entscheidungshilfe zur Stimmabgabe
dienen. Um die besten Übereinstimmungen zu finden, ist es auch möglich,
ein eigenes Profil zu erstellen, um die eigenen Antworten direkt mit
denen der Kandidierenden zu vergleichen.
„KandidatInnen sämtlicher Parteien können sich auf unserer Plattform
selbst, durch ihre jeweilige Partei oder uns persönlich erfassen lassen
und zu den zehn Fragen Stellung nehmen“, erklärt Simon Wächter von
Freedomvote, „damit hoffen wir auf regen Zuspruch seitens der
KandidatInnen zu dieser Transparenzinitiative. Je mehr daran teilnehmen,
desto besser kann die Kampagne eine Hilfe für Wählende sein. Die FSFE
Schweiz versendet diese Woche hunderte Mails und Briefe an Kandidierende
um sie zur Teilnahme zu bewegen. Hilf Ihnen doch, indem Du die
Kandidierenden Deiner Region zusätzlich ganz persönlich um ihre
Teilnahme bittest.
Neben der Entwicklung und Bereitstellung von Freedomvote durch die FSFE
Schweiz und der /ch/open[2] wird die Kampagne von mehreren
zivilgesellschaftlichen Organisationen unterstützt, der Parldigi[3], der
Internet Society Switzerland Chapter[4], Opendata.ch[5], Digitalle
Allmend[6] und der Willhelm Tux[7]. Das gesamte Portal von
freedomvote.ch ist eigenständig erstellt und als Freie Software
veröffentlicht[8].

die Demonstration "Endgültig TTIP, CETA, TISA stoppen" findet am
Samstag, den 26.09.2015, in Düsseldorf statt. Sie wird organisiert von
einen Aktionsbündnis.
Man trifft sich um 12 Uhr zum Start am DGB-Haus (Nähe Hauptbahnhof),
Friedrich-Ebert-Straße 34 - 38, 40210 Düsseldorf.
Die Demo-Route führt in die Altstadt zum Marktplatz.
Ab 14 Uhr ist auf dem Marktplatz (vor dem Rathaus) eine Kundgebung mit
Rednern/Musik und Infoständen.

Im Herbst 2015 tritt die Auseinandersetzung um die Handels- und
Investitionsabkommen TTIP, CETA in die heiße Phase.
Diese Abkommen und TISA drohen Demokratie und Rechtsstaatlichkeit
zu untergraben und auszuhebeln.
Es ist also höchste Zeit, den Protest gegen die Abkommen auf die Straße
zu tragen!
Die Demonstration tritt für eine Handels- und Investitionspolitik ein,
die auf hohen ökologischen und sozialen Standards beruht und eine
nachhaltige Entwicklung in allen Ländern fördert.
Die Demonstranten treten auch ein für internationale Abkommen, die
* öffentliche und gemeinnützige Dienstleistungen und Daseinsvorsorge
stärken, statt sie zu schwächen;
* kulturelle Vielfalt und öffentliche Bildungsangebote fördern, statt
sie als Handelshemmnis zu betrachten;
* global ausgerichtet sind, statt die Mehrheit der Menschen
auszugrenzen und
* transparent und offen verhandelt werden, statt geheim und in
Hinterzimmern.
Diese Anliegen können wohl alle Freunde Freier Software und Offener
Standards teilen.
Da die Auswirkungen dieser Abkommen auf Freie Software und Offene
Standards wegen der demokratiefeindlichen "Geheimdiplomatie", mit der
sie ausgehandelt werden, nur schwer abschätzbar sind, aber nach dem, was
"durchgesickert" ist, durchaus erhebliche Nachteile zu befürchten sind,
empfehle ich die Teilnahme allen Freunden Freier Software und Offener
Standards.
"Free Software - Free Society" steht auf vielen unserer T-Shirts. Tragt
sie (und/oder unsere Pins und Hoodies) am 26.09.2015!

Am Software Freedom Day werden seit 2004 jedes Jahr weltweit die Erfolge

Linux-Distribution beiliegt.
Spezielle Module werden nicht benötigt.
Die beiden anderen Vorträge widmen sich sich der Erstellung von E-Books
mit dem Textsatzsystem LaTeX und der Erstellung statischer Websites mit
dem Tool Hugo.
