wenn mich jemand fragt, welche Linux-Distribution die FSFE empfehlen würde, was antworte ich da?
Ich kenne die Seite der Empfehlungen der FSF[0], konnte aber diesbezüglich in der Suche auf fsfe.org nichts finden. Gibt es hierzu ein offizielles Statement?
Debian ohne non-free? Oder ist Debian raus, weil sie überhaupt non-free Repositories haben? Dann vllt. eher so etwas wie Trisquel[1]?
Mir reicht auch ein RTFM, aber bitte mit Link, denn ich finde es nicht. :-)

Bitte steinigt mich nicht, ich sage einmal gar keine! Jede GNU/Linux Distro erfüllt ihren Zweck, wobei es wirklich darauf ankommt für wen es sein soll (Einsteiger, Developer, ...)

Nein, soweit ich weiss nicht. Wir halten an natürlich an die FSF Empfehlungen, aber... Ich kann Trisquel oder ähnliches keinem User der sich der Freiheit zuwendet empfehlen, eher andere Dinge, wobei die Diskussion ob man Ubuntu noch empfehlen sollte (für normale User) noch nicht so richtig entfacht ist.

Debian ist mal IMHO sehr gut, hat auch nur Non-Free Repos wenn man es wirklich so will. Es gibt aber nun einmal Fälle, da hast du die Entscheidung zwischen Binary Blob (für sagen wir mal einen Ethernet Treiber) und einer nicht funktionierenden Karte. Ich für mich habe dann entschieden, den Binary Blob zu verwenden, und falls mal was Freies rauskommt umzusteigen.
Das wäre auch meine Antwort bei so einer Frage, die auch immer wieder kommt und weiter kommen wird.
In a nutshell: "Nimm das, das dir die meiste Freiheit gibt, ohne das du dir dabei die Finger brichst"

ganz einfach: keine. Die FSFE als Organisation, die Freie Software an sich fördert, darf und will keine einzelne Distribution, kein einzelnes Programmpaket, keinen Editor und keine grafische Oberfläche vor anderen bevorzugen oder sogar explizit empfehlen, solange es sich um Freie Software handelt.
Wir empfehlen aber auf jeden Fall, bei jeder Distribution darauf zu achten, dann auch nur Komponenten zu verwenden, die Freie Software sind. Die Mechanismen, das sicherzustellen, sind je nach Distribution verschieden.

Die Distributionen haben alle ihr Vor- und Nachteile. Und "non-free" ja/nein ist (nicht nur im Kontext der extremen Auslegung aus der Debianwelt) auch etwas, daß jeder selber entscheiden muß. [ Und ja, ich kenne alle Argumente dafür und dagegen;-) ]
Die ganz harten Drogen sind für den Einstieg vielleicht nicht das allerbeste ....
