Ich habe gerade gelesen, dass Mozilla's Web-Spiele-Wettbewerb "Game On" gerade gestartet wurde und ich dachte mir, das könnte hier einige Leute interessieren.
Bis 24. Februar 2013 sammelt Mozilla spielbare Prototypen von Spielen, die komplett in offenen Web-Technologien implementiert wurden. Eine der drei Kategorien ist "Hackable Games" gewidmet und natürlich sind freie Linzenzen deutlich erwünscht. (Ich hätte mich gefreut, wenn sie Pflicht wären, aber im Spielebreich sind wir wohl froh, wenn zumindest ein guter Teil der Einreichungen frei ist.)

Cool, coden grade was mit canvas/js fürs supergamedev weekend, aber wird wohl nicht so toll werden das wir einreichen.

Die Javascript Canvasengine die wir verwendet haben ist grundsätzlich nett, aber miserabel dokumentiert und scheinbar unvollständig. Und Zeit fehlt auch immer.
Das Ergebnis war eine Katze die animiert laufen kann, eine healthbar die automatisch weniger wird solange man nicht schlägt, und eine die Animation. Das ganze noch mit Hintergrundmusik und Soundeffekten, wobei die schon unlogisches verhalten zeigten.

Ich weiß, dass mit Canvas einiges möglich sein soll. Aber ich bin immer noch betrübt, dass SVG in HTML5 von diesem eher seltsamen Canvas Zeugs verdrängt zu werden scheint.

gedacht war eigentlich eine Art RPG mit Multiplayer, was leider ua daran scheiterte dass die Engine offenbar nicht auf der neuesten nodejs Version installierbar ist. Ziel hätte es sein sollen das mehrere Spieler gemeinsam in einer Bank einbrechen und jeder bestimmte Fähigkeiten hat (Alarmanlage hacken, Tresor knacken, ...)
Die Katze war nur als Test gedacht um Animationen, Input und Sound auszuprobieren und war Mortal Kombat Style.

ich hab keine ahnung was svg in html so kann, canvas sind scheinbar relativ simple.
