Internetradio ============= Webcasting mit freier Software ------------------------------
Vor 20 Jahren, am 24. Juni 1993 wurde laut Wikipedia das erste Mal ein Konzert live über das Internet gestreamt. Der Webcast war erfunden. Seither hat die verfügbare Bandbreite am Internet erheblich zugenommen und zusammen mit Kompressionsverfahren nimmt heute die Übertragung von Inhalten in so genannter CD-Qualität über jeden ehemals nur für Telefonqualität geeigneten Anschluss nur einen Bruchteil der Kapazität in Anspruch. Mit dem Einzug des Smartphones ist das Streamen von Video von unterwegs selbstverständlich geworden.
In meinem ca. einstündigen Vortrag werde ich versuchen einen groben Überblick über das Webcasting zu geben. Der Schwerpunkt wird dabei auf Systemen liegen die auf offenen Protokollen basieren und freie Software verwenden.
Zum Abschluss ist geplant eine Live Streaming Situation vom Mikrofon bis zum Lautsprecher am Empfänger PC zu demonstrieren. Deshalb BYOL (bring your own laptop).
