wer von Euch könnte mir beratend mit Erfahrung bei der Einrichtung und Nutzung eines DAV-Kalenders mit Thunderbird und mehreren Benutzern zur Seite stehen?
Bei einer chronisch überarbeiteten NGO wollen wir endlich einen gemeinsamen internen Kalender einführen, damit wir uns viel Herumfragerei wegen dem Zeitmanagement ersparen können.
Nun haben wir aber noch nie so ein System benutzt.
Mein Kollege hat bei seiner bisherigen Recherche DAV als eine mögliche Lösung identifiziert. Vielleicht würdet Ihr für unseren Bedarf aber auch eine andere Lösung als besser geeignet (eventuell noch unkomplizierter) empfehlen:

muesst ma sich im detail anschaun...
webdav selber is grundsaetzlich keine hexerei (solange server & client das selbe (sub-)set der spezifikation sprechen.
es gibt fuer kalender auch eine erweiterung zu webdav names caldav, die hier noch ein paar erweitertungen hat.
ich kanns mir gern anschauen, ich wuerde aber vorschlagen sich einmal zusammenzusetzen welche beduefnisse/wuensche genau da sind, damit ma dann auf die richtige loesung kommt.

Das wäre super Albert. Es wäre wohl das Beste, wenn da auch mein Kollege dabei wäre, weil er vermutlich hauptsächlich mit der Umsetzung befasst wäre...

Das Aufsetzen von owncloud war halt für mich eine Entscheidung für den geringsten Widerstand. Allerdings bietet owncloud natürlich noch viel mehr Möglichkeiten, als "nur" Kalender und Tasks.
@Franz: Wenn bei dir, Franz, Interesse besteht, kann ich dir einen Zugang einrichten und du kannst mal live in owncloud herumtesten.

Vielleicht liegt das Problem nicht isoliert an Thunderbird sondern an der Kombination mit Radicale als CalDav Server und SyncEvolution als Kopplung zu 2 N900s. (Obwohl das lt. Radicale funktionierende Clients sein sollten)

ich hab mit davical als server und syncevo am n900 keine probleme. agendav ist ein ganz netter web-client, der brauchbar mit davical zusammenspielt.
gruppenkalender hab ich in davical allerdings noch nicht probiert.
von anderen weiss ich von guten erfahrungen mit dem caldav/carddav-teil von owncloud, das an sich sonst natuerlich auch nett ist (als dropbox-ersatz).
je nachdem was man will kann aber auch ein simples .ics-file, auf das clients via webdav zugreifen, reichen, tut an sich auch.

Ich habe jetzt den Thunderbird (Sunbird) Kalender auf 2 Debian Desktops durch Evolution ersetzt, am Server / N900 nichts geändert und jetzt funktioniert es seit einer Woche problemlos.

das ist ein sehr nettes Angebot. Allerdings verwende ich selbst (noch?) gar keinen Thunderbird. In dem Fall wäre es vermutlich noch sinnvoller wenn das mein Kollege ausprobieren würde.

Mein Kollege schreibt Folgendes zu den erwarteten Anforderungen:
"Ich stell mir das laienhaft mal so vor, dass jedeR (thunderbird-)User den eigenen Kalender off- und online im eigenen Thunderbird einrichtet und dort jedenfalls entscheiden können soll, welche Termine des eigenen (am Server synchronisierten) Kalenders auch von anderen gesehen werden können. Logisch, dass die anderen keine Details zu persönlichen Terminen sehen sollen - also privacy! Diese persönlichen Kalender (unter Ausschluss "privater" Termine) sollen von anderen Usern miteingesehen (aber natürlich nicht beschrieben werden dürfen). Der zweite Kalendertyp, der mir vorschwebt, ist ein wirklich gemeinsam geteilter Kalender, z.B. zur Terminverwaltung der Autos, Demos, allgemeinen Events (evtl. verknüpft mit dem Kalender auf der (neuen) Website?"
Ich muss gestehen, dass ich die Beschreibung der persönlichen Kalender nicht ganz klar finde. Das muß ich noch genauer mit ihm klären...

Hm, das klingt nicht unbedingt vielversprechend. Ich denke es wird schwierig die Leute auf einen anderen Mailclient umzugewöhnen. Es war ja die Umstellung von Outlook auf Thunderbird schon eine Anstrengung.
Bleibt die Frage ob es zu dem Zweck noch geeignetere Lösungen gibt.
Ich habe auch daran gedacht, dass es vielleicht sogar vernünftig wäre die Kalender-Geschichte über Drupal zu lösen weil die neue Webseite sowieso eine Drupal-Seite sein wird und sich dort ja Nutzungsrechte üblicher Weise recht bequem anpassen lassen. Allerdings meint mein Kollege, dass es für die Leute offenbar eine gewisse Hürde ist sich extra irgendwo einloggen zu müssen. Besser wäre es so bequem wie möglich...

protokoll technisch faellt mir kaum was anderes als webdav/caldav ein (ownlcloud verwendet ja auch nix anderes dafuer)...sonst fallen mir nur syncml und reverse engierte exchange protokolle ein.
