MaxDB in nächsten Version wieder proprietär

SAP schreibt ja selber:

MaxDB versions 7.5 and 7.6.00 are available as an open source product 
for several years now. These continue to stay in open source. This is 
maintained and driven by an open source community. We are proud of past 
SAP contributions to open source and the continued contributions of the 
community to maintain it. But SAP is not making any more active 
contributions to it.

Und SAP schreibt auch dass Sie MaxDB-Support nur noch fuer die 
Verwendung von MaxDB mit SAP-Applikationen verkaufen werden.

SAP ist es vermutlich einfach egal ob MaxDB mit nicht-SAP-Applikationen 
verwendet wird oder nicht - das ist kein Markt an dem SAP Interesse hat.

Und niemand wird eine nicht unterstuetzte Datenbank mit 
SAP-Applikationen verwenden um ein paar Euro zu sparen.

Eigentlich koennte es SAP egal sein ob die neueste Version auch 
zusaetzlich unter der GPL verfuegbar ist, aber Bernhards Frage nach dem 
Warum der Lizenzaenderung kann vermutlich nur jemand von SAP 
beantworten.

Das steht dort nicht.

Und MySQL AB hat bereits eine eigene Datenbank.

Ausserdem hat MySQL AB ziemlich sicher kein Interesse daran neben der 
eigenen Dual-lizenzierten Datenbank mit der sie Ihr Geld verdienen eine 
GPL-only Datenbank zu pflegen.
