Dear Tom,

I didn't fully read the statement by the FSFE, nor did I follow the
copyright discussion great detail. So I won't be able to go into
details.

If I'm correct the task for Julia Reda is to be considered neutral in
that she reported on the state of copyright and possible improvements.
From then on a proposal can be put for a vote in the committee and then
in parliament.

Julia has a page dedicated to her report and its progress:
https://juliareda.eu/copyright-evaluation-report/

In a recent blogpost she elaborated on how the report got through the
votes by the committee.
https://juliareda.eu/2015/06/reda-report-adopted-a-turning-point-in-the-copyright-debate/

If you're willing to elaborate on the dubious points, please do so. I'm
curious to hear your remarks.

Kind regards,
Nico Rikken (NL)
