After triggering changes at home [1] recently, basque country officials,
free software supporters and free software companies have inyected a
proposal [2] about free software releases by the public sector in a EC
debate about open data.

The rationale -similar to the one that keeps Europe free of software
patents - relies on the idea that software is yet another information
format.

For the moment, most of the comments are originated in Spain. It would be
great to have tons of comments from other parts of Europe supporting the
innitiative. Please, help spread the word.
