[OT] Information Access campaign

Hi,

I'd like to call on your attention the campaign from
http://www.access-info.org

The campaign is related to a treaty which is being drafted by the Council of
Europe, which would impose obligations on signatory states to release
information to physical and juridical persons upon request, in a mode
similar to the Freedom of Information requests already existing in some
national legislations. The campaign is attempting to make the treaty codify
strong standards of transparency for signing members.

Although it is not an issue that directly concerns Free Software and the
FSFE, I would think that it is in FSFE's interest to improve the level of
government transparency, both due to reasons of principle and practical
advantages for Free Software.

My apologies if this information is redundant or off-topic.
