The philosophy page is pretty overwhelming if you're new to the idea.
It's a page full of links, with no real indication about what you should
and shouldn't read - it's not really introductory material.

Compare to the likes of
http://mirrors.creativecommons.org/getcreative/clicktoplay.html (yes,
it's Flash) which is much more accessible to the average joe who's never
heard of the idea.
