Yes, the patent holder is Cisco. But also the implementation/documentation 
are copyrighted by the company itself. This is not fair for the 
employee but the employee doesn't see that directly... (he sees only his 
name on a wall (an internal wall ;-))

Of course. Could be a also an approach for promoting the ethic of Free 
Software ? Finding companies that promote ethic and Free Software 
philosophy.
