Microsoft prohibits GPLed work via licensing of CIFS standards

5,265,261 is easy to work around (just move the functionality
described in this patent to the kernel; the claims cover only
applications).

I'm not sure how to work around the second patent.  You could move the
redirector to a different machine (although this would hamper
performance), or you could avoid a separate "redirector" entity (I
don't know if it is feasible).

Or you could search prior art. ;-)
