There's a very good movement in the UK, called "Adopt an MP" (can't remember
the link off-hand, but there is certainly a link on Alan Cox's homepage, ). Citizens 'adopt' their local member of
parliament, and make sure than they are aware of all the fact surrounding
encryption, software patents, etc. It's basically a multi-faceted lobby
group, and it seems to be making at least some impact. Maybe that's the
answer - address the individual politicians via their constituents, rather
than via lobby groups.
