trisquel ist eine Freie Distribution, die von der FSF empfohlen wird. Wer ein x60 bei gluglug bestellt, wird per Default auch trisquel bekommen (was ich auf empfehle). Im folgenden habe ich ein paar Tipps und Tricks zusammengestellt, die für den trisquel Neueinsteiger aber auch für manch einen alten Hasen, nützlich sein könnten: ... GDM Hintergrundbild ändern
Im folgenden Beispiel wird das Trisquel Bild robur.png verwendet. Es ist transparent und benötigt daher einen farbigen Hintergrund. Wenn ein anderes Bild ohne Transparenz genommen werden soll, kann man die letzten beiden Schritte weglassen:

Hibernate statt suspend
Zunächst muss man eine Datei /etc/polkit-1/localauthority/50-local.d/com.ubuntu.enable-hibernate.pkla mit folgendem Inhalt erstellen:
[Re-enable hibernate by default] Identity=unix-user:* Action=org.freedesktop.upower.hibernate ResultActive=yes
Danach kann die Default-Action für Lid-Close in den Systemeinstellungen oder in der Shell (als normaler User) auf Hibernate gesetzt werden:
gsettings set org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.power lid-close-ac-action hibernate gsettings set org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.power lid-close-battery-action hibernate
Die Umstellung von Suspend auf Hibernate ist besonders auf dem x60 mit Libreboot sinnvoll, da es einen Bug gibt, der dafür sorgt, dass die Akkustandsanzeige nach einem Suspend teilweise nicht mehr richtig funktioniert (es zeigt kritisch an, obwohl acpi noch einen hohen Akkustand ausgibt und der Akku auch noch genug Ladung hat).
Compiz deaktivieren
In den Systemeinstellungen kann man von Compiz auf Metacity umstellen. Leider bleibt diese Änderung nicht bestehen, wenn man sich wieder neu anmeldet. Um es permanent zu machen muss man als normaler User den folgenden Befehl ausführen:
touch ~/.disable-compiz
Benutzerbild ändern
Im Anmeldebildschirm wird für jeden Benutzer ein Icon angezeigt. Per Default ist es ein trisquel logo. Um es durch ein persönliches Bild zu ersetzen, kann man einfach das gewünschte Bild nach ~/.face kopieren.
Panel anpassen
Das Panel in der Standardausgabe von trisquel basiert auf gnome-panel. Es ist anpassbar, aber etwas tricky zu bedienen. Wenn man ein Element verschieben möchte, klickt man es per Rechtsklick an, während man Super+Alt gedrückt hält. Dann öffnet sich ein verborgenes Menü, mit dem Punkt 'verschieben'.
Schnellstarter kann man per Drag&Drop hinzufügen. Auch die Höhe des Panels lässt sich anpassen. Dazu klickt man mit gedrückten Super+Alt Tasten per Rechtsklick einen freien Bereich an und wählt dann Eigenschaften. Wer das riesige Panel nicht mag, kann dort z.B. als Grösse 28 einstellen. Dadurch wird die Taskliste zwar einzeilig, es hat aber den Vorteil, dass alle Systray Icons richtig skaliert werden. ...

Zu früh gefreut. Das Problem tritt auch mit Hibernate noch auf. Entweder nutzt man die LXDE Version, die für den Akkumonitor noch acpi und nicht upower verwendet, oder man suspended das Gerät im Fehlerfall kurz und wacht es danach wieder auf. Dann wird die Akkustandsanzeige wieder korrigiert.
