I have a question about the creation of wiki pages.
I tried to create a new page without a template and it says that it is
not allowed. Is there a way to resolve this?
By the way, my page does not belong in the already existing categories.

Hi Wiki caretakers,
In the old wiki, when I renamed pages, there was a forwarding from the
old to the new name created. This seems not to be the case for the new
wiki anymore. Is this something we can reactivate? Or is there a problem
with that?

Dear WikiCareTakers,
Cellini and me wanted to set up a simple page for our birthday celebration.
For better orientation for the people that join the summit we also wanted to
implement pictures. Unfortunately, the pictures do not define a space for
themselves, so get "over the border"

Dear Wiki Care Takers,
I like to offer you a session slot during the FSFE summit on Saturday,
September 3rd.
There will be several sessions dedicated to particular FSFE teams, for example
for the webteam, the translators, the infrastructure team etc.
A slot is 25 minutes and it is the chance to motivate new volunteers to join
your team, in this case the Wiki Care Takers team.
The session holder is free in his text and talk. As said, the main purpose
would be to attract new volunteers to your team - the way and form of
communication is up to you.
Anyone on this list interested in running this session?

Hello Caretakers,
in order to decomission one of our failing virtualisation servers we are
going to move the wiki to another virtual host.
The move has already been prepared, a copy of the wiki is running on
scheele.fsfeurope.org. The switch will happen as follows:
1. We will disable the wiki service currently running on indium.fsfeurope.org.
2. We will synchronize the latest data set via rsync (updating the initial
sync that has already taken place)
3. We will update the DNS record for wiki.fsfe.org, which should already have
a low TTL
Step 2 will probably require less than two minutes. The wiki will be
unavailable from step 1 onwards until the time it takes for the DNS record to
propagate to your respective nameservers. Hopefully this will be less than 10
minutes.
We will start the migration somewhere between 15:00 and 17:00 hours CEST on
Thursday (that is Berlin/Vienna time ;-).

Hi all,
I suggest increasing the font-weight in the wiki from 300 to 400. With
300, the font in my Firefox 47 is quite hard to read, especially with
longer parts. 400 instead looks much bolder but still good.
Interestingly for Chromium it doesn't make a difference. I attached two
images showing the difference on my screen.
If nobody disagrees, I would like to ask Paul to implement the changes
in the wiki's CSS since I can't do that myself.

Hi,
I've officially declared the current wiki sprint as finished [1, "Status"]. The
wiki activity related to WikiCareTakers has been low for a few months already,
so I believe this step is just a sync between wiki and reality.
Of course this does not mean that the wiki is "done", but I think we have
improved the wiki quite a bit. To give a quick summary of the wiki changes
that happened this year:
* Independently of WikiCaretakers the wiki was migrated to a new MoinMoin
version, and the theme was improved.
* We tidied up categories and templates
* Events have been fixed in many cases so that they actually show up in the
calendar
* LocalGroups have been contacted so that their activity status can be shown
* Namespaces have been overhauled as well - even though there is still room
for improvement here. At least we could significantly reduce the number of
single pages with no obvious connection to other pages.
* Many pages from the old have been adopted for the new wiki
(but there are still many that remain in the Migrated namespace)
This list is just off the top of my head - There is probably a lot that I
missed.
Either way, a big thank you to all of you who helped in one way or another!
Whether by participating in the discussion here (or the previous quickml
list), by fixing pages on the wiki, or by doing the groundwork that enabled all
the changes (Paul) - thank you for doing this!
