Dear all,

again with the help of preliminary work done by Nicola Bernardini and after some suggestions of Marc Eberhard, I worked on a first draft for an Expression of Interest (EOI) for the 6th framework programme (FP6) of the European Union for an "Integrated Project" (IP).

Time is of the essence. This document must be very much final by the end of the week.

I'm appending the first draft version in both LaTeX and PDF format, so you can print it out or send me patches with suggestions right away. I will try to reiterate it based on the feedback. Also I will try to reiterate the document(s) with the feedback Nicola received from Mr. Philippe Aigrain.

For now, the most important question is who we want to be in this EOI.

I have made several suggestions, but of course these companies, associations and research institutes *must* tell me themselves officially that they want to get involved. That is also true for our associate organizations.

So please make sure that these companies see the document and take care of it immediately.

Also if you know other partners (companies, research institutes, associations) that should be involved in this, please do not hesitate to get them in touch with me.

There is no time to let this sit in your incoming mail folder. Everyone should know that this needs to be dealt with now.
