Hi!
Matthias just pointed out to me that the winner of this year Nordic Free
Software Award is a Fellow: Simon Josefsson.
I'll write an item about this in the coming newsletter. Could you please provide
me some info/background about his work/commitment? And why this work deserved
the award?
The website is not yet updated, so i'm asking you
http://fscons.org/award
Thank you!
Giacomo
Dear all,
I would just like send everyone who worked on FSCONS a word of
thanks for a really great event. It was extremely well organised
and executed, and the crowd there had a great density of very
interesting people.
This was one of my favourite large events in 2009. One comment I
heard was that FSCONS was "like FOSDEM, but more organised". I
think that sums it up pretty well. (For those who haven't been at
FOSDEM yet: it's a big compliment.)
Moreover, we had great FSFE representation there, and got a very
warm welcome. Alina did a very good job organising the booth, and
both the booth and various workshops and talks were the sites of
many interesting encounters with old and new acquaintances.
I can't wait to repeat this in 2010. Great work, everyone, and
thank you!
Best regards,
Karsten

Free Software Foundation Europe e.V. is a German Verein registered
at the Registergericht Hamburg (VR 17030).
Hi, in a couple of weeks we have to switch off our server in Orebro, so I'm
finishing moving services away from this host.
There are some services still running on scheele.fsfeurope.org (a virtual server
guest of the main server), which I suppose were set up by the Swedish team.
I'd like to know if anybody can take care of moving these services to another
server (if they are still needed), or backup relevant data.
Otherwise I will just backup configurations and database sql dumps and store
them on one of our servers.
Here you are some information about running services:
scheele:~# pstree
init-+-apache2---10*[apache2]
|-cron
|-exim4
|-inetd
|-mailmanctl---8*[python]
|-mysqld_safe-+-logger
| `-mysqld---16*[{mysqld}]
|-postgres---4*[postgres]
`-syslogd
