Free Software Foundation Europe e il Linux Day. Come annunciato nei giorni scorsi [1], FSFE partecipa per la prima volta all'evento nazionale dedicato a GNU/Linux al software libero [2] attraverso un intervento del presidente del capitolo italiano, Stefano Maffulli, disponibile al seguente indirizzo:

Da qui, sarà possibile scaricare il materiale audio-video da trasmettere durante la giornata del 26 novembre, quando in ogni citta' italiana prenderanno il via le manifestazioni organizzate localmente dai LUG (Linux User Group) [3] e promosse dall'Italian Linux Society [4]. Che cos'è la Free Software Foundation Europe
La Free Software Foundation Europe (FSFE) è una organizzazione non governativa senza fini di lucro che si dedica a tutti gli aspetti del Software Libero in Europa. L'accesso al software determina chi può far parte di una società digitale. Quindi la libertà di usare, copiare, modificare e redistribuire software, come descritto nella definizione di Software Libero, permette parità di partecipazione nell'era dell'informazione. Portare all'attenzione del pubblico questi temi, dare solide basi politiche e legali al Software Libero e assicurare libertà alle persone supportando lo sviluppo di Software Libero, sono temi centrali per la FSFE, che è stata fondata nel 2001 come organizzazione sorella della Free Software Foundation statunitense.
