1. La FSFE à Dublin
A l'université de Dublin, Georg Greve a donné un discours sur les défis que représentent les logiciels libres dans le monde numérique et aussi présenté le travail de la FSFE. Comme toujours, il a également saisi l'occasion d'intensifier les contacts avec la communauté locale des logiciels libres et a discuté de la possibilité d'une intégration plus soutenue des Irlandais dans le réseau de la FSFE.
2. La FSFE au Forum social mondial (FSM)
En coopération avec le projet brésilien des logiciels libres [1], le président Georg Greve de la FSFE a participé à une série d'activités et d'événements [2] autour du logiciel libre, lors du Forum social mondial (FSM) à Porto Alegre, Brésil -- citons parmis eux la sortie officielle en 2005 du forum du logiciel libre. [3] Le logiciel libre, le savoir libre et les performances d'art libre au Forum social mondial (FSM) ont reçu l'appui solide du ministère culturel brésilien. Gilberto Gil, ministre de la culture, a participé à certains d'entre eux personnellement, avec d'autres figures connues, telles que Laurent Lessig et John Perry Barlow. Pendant le FSM, beaucoup d'activistes ont également fait leurs premiers pas avec le logiciel libre en utilisant l'une des 1000 machines mises à disposition à l'"estudio livre" (lieu d'études libres) et dans d'autres points d'accès.

3. HP donne deux serveurs
Hewlett-Packard en Allemagne a gracieusement offert deux serveurs Compaq N2400 (Bi-CPU, Pentium III 1GHz avec 1GB de RAM chacun). Ces machines ont remplacé les anciens serveurs web et mail vraiment périmés et qui offraient l'infrastructure informatique de base de la FSFE. La FSFE voudrait remercier la société HP pour leur appui.

4. L'excursion continue en Italie
Après la réussite des manifestations publiques de décembre, l'équipe italienne de la FSFE a continué son excursion à travers l'Italie et a participé à la "semaine de liberté numérique" qui a été organisée par le club Linux italien à Rome. Alessandro Rubini a parlé du "logiciel libre embarqué", et du Stefano Maffulli a tenu un discours sur la "Free Software Foundation Europe: activités et projets d'avenir". Des T-shirts de la FSFE sont disponible au club Linux.

5. Activités contre les brevets logiciels
La décision du conseil de l'Union européenne d'introduire les brevets logiciels en Europe n'est toujours pas approuvée, et la résistance politique contre cette décision est devenue plus forte que jamais. Le FSFE et ses organismes associés, surtout la FFII, coopèrent toujours dans leurs efforts pour parer à cette menace contre l'innovation.
