1. Première conférence internationale de la Fellowship
Plus de 40 Fellows venus de toute l'Europe se sont retrouvés á la première conférence internationale de la Fellowship á Bolzano dans le sud Tyrol en Italie. Les principaux sujets de discussion ont été le projet de recommandation, la page web de la Fellowship, le nouveau logo de la FSFE et les dernières nouvelles de la "Freedom Task Force". Par ailleurs, les Fellows et les membres de l'équipe noyau de la FSFE ont saisi l'opportunité de se rencontrer en personne et de discuter de divers sujets en plus petits groupes.
2. Le démarrage de la Freedom Task Force
Après des années de planification, la FSFE a finalement été en mesure d'annoncer sa plus récente activité, la Freedom Task Force (FTF). La FTF a pour objectif d'aider les projets et les compagnies á assurer l'entretien légal de leur Logiciel Libre á travers trois principaux champs d'activité : l'information sur les licences, les services fiduciaires et - le cas échéant - la mise en application des licences du Logiciel Libre.
La FTF constitue une référence et un point de contact pour tous ces cas de figure et sa coordination est assurée par Shane M. Coughlan qui travaille en étroite collaboration avec des projets similaires comme avec Harald Welte de gpl-violations.org. Le démarrage de la Freedom Task Force a été rendu possible par une contribution de 30 000 Euro de Stichting NLnet. La FSFE remercie NLnet pour leur soutien et encourage d'autres entités á contribuer á sécuriser ces activités sur le long terme; vous pouvez apporter votre contribution á travers un engagement volontaire, une contribution financière et/ou la participation á la Fellowship.

3. La FSFE devient le garant légal de Bacula.org
Le premier projet á utiliser la Freedom Task Force et son service fiduciaire est Bacula.org sans doute la solution Logiciel Libre de backup actuellement disponible la plus aboutie. En utilisant l'Accord de Licence Fiduciaire (FLA) de la FSFE, Bacula.org a fait de la FSFE la fiduciaire de ses intèrêts légaux pour assurer une liberté sur le long terme au projet en l'aidant á poursuivre sa maturité et á se concentrer sur les aspects techniques et de coordination.

4. Meeting d'inauguration du Forum sur la Gouvernance de l'Internet (IGF)
La FSFE a été très impliqué dans le Sommet Mondial des Nations Unies sur la Société de l'Information (WSIS), lors duquel le président de la FSFE Georg Greve a co-coordonné le travail global de la Société Civile sur le Logiciel Libre, les Standards Ouverts et les problèmes de régulation de la connaissance. Un des résultats du WSIS est le Forum des Nations Unies sur la Gouvernance de l'internet (IGF) un forum de dialogue ouvert, multi-parties sur les futures politiques d'usage et de régulation de l'internet.
Afin de s'assurer que de tels dialogues et la tendance politique globale prennent en compte la perspective du Logiciel Libre, la FSFE prendra part á l'IGF qui a tenu son meeting d'inauguration á Athène. Le président de la FSFE Georg Greve a soulevé la question du Logiciel Libre lors d'une des rencontres principales et a également participé au lancement des Coalitions Dynamiques sur des Standards Ouverts et l'Accès á la Connaissance et á la Liberté d'Expression.

5. Cinquième conférence internationale sur la GPLv3
La cinquième conférence internationale sur la GPLv3 s'est tenue á Tokyo au Japon et était hébergée par une organisation associée de la FSFE, la Free Software Initiative Japan (FSIJ). Georg Greve et Ciaran O'Riordan ont représenté la FSFE lors de cet événement qui devrait être la dernière conférence internationale sur la GPLv3 avant la publication de la version finale de la GPLv3 au printemps prochain.

6. Trophées du Libre
Organisée par le Centre Européen de Transfert et de Recherche en Informatique Libre (CETRIL), la 3ème édition des Trophées du Libre s'est tenue á Soisson en France. Afin d'exprimer le soutien de la FSFE á cette manière d'encourager et de soutenir des projets de Logiciel Libre, le président de la FSFE Georg Greve a pris part au jury et a eu de nombreuses et intéressantes discussions avec d'autres acteurs de la communauté du Logiciel Libre.
7. Présentation de Mathias Klang
Mathias Klang a rejoint le coeur de l'équipe de la FSFE, renforçant de cette manière l'équipe Suédoise. Mathias est chercheur en informatique légale á l'Université de Göteborg en Suède. Il a étudié le droit á Göteborg et s'est ensuite spécialisé en droit IT á l'Université de Strathclyde en Ecosse.
Ses thèmes de recherche et de publications résident principalement dans les domaines du droit et de la technologie en relation avec des sujets tels que la démocratie, les droits de l'homme, la liberté d'expression, la censure, le logiciel libre, l'accès libre et l'éthique. Il a publié de nombreux articles de recherche et est également le co-auteur (avec Andrew Murray) d'un travail dont le titre est "Les Droits de l'Homme á l'Ere Numérique" ("Human Rights in the Digital Age") (2005). Il a écrit (et défendu avec succès) sa thèse de doctorat "Technologie Disruptive : les Effets de la Régulation Technologique sur la Démocratie" ("Disruptive Technology: Effects of Technology Regulation on Democracy") (2006).
8. Apparitions publiques de la FSFE
Plusieurs membres de l'équipe noyau de la FSFE étaient présents á la Conférence sur le Logiciel Libre du Sud Tyrol (SFScon) á Bolzano en Italie. Gerog Greve a présenté la Free Software Foundation Europe, Jonas Öberg s'est exprimé sur le projet SELF, Stefano Maffulli a prononcé un discours sur la Fellowship de la FSFE et Werner Koch a présenté une introduction sur les technologies de chiffrement et un atelier sur la GnuPG et la Crypto-Card de la Fellowship. La FSFE souhaite en outre remercier les organisateurs de la manifestation pour avoir également accueilli la première conférence internationale de la Fellowship après la fin officielle de SFScon.
Michael Kallas, Rainer Kersten et Güven Bay ont organisé une rencontre au LWE á Cologne en Allemagne, lors de laquelle ils ont eu de nombreuses conversations intéressantes et ont pu informer les participants sur le travail de la FSFE.
Jonas Öberg a fait une présentation de SELF et de la GPLv3 au "Update computer club" de l'Université de Uppsala en Suède.
Shane Coughlan s'est exprimé lors d'un meeting au centre de Zurich organisé par "Nexell Informiert" le mercredi 29 novembre. Il a présenté le concept de Logiciel Libre et expliqué de quelle manière la Freedom Task Force (FTF) peut aider le monde des affaires á comprendre le système de licence du Logiciel Libre. La réaction des clients de Nexell a été très positive, nombre d'entre eux prennent en considération le fait d'adopter des solutions de Logiciel Libre dans les années á venir.
9. Devenez actifs : parlez de la FSFE á votre compagnie!
A compter de maintenant, chaque newsletter contiendra des idées sur la manière dont chacun peut contribuer au mouvement du Logiciel Libre et au travail de la Free Software Foundation Europe.
Diffuser la bonne parole sur le Logiciel Libre a toujours été une activité clef de la FSFE et chacun peut aider en cela, même dans son environnement quotidien :
* Informez les dirigeants de votre compagnie sur l'idée de Logiciel Libre ou essayez de les amener á des événements autour du Logiciel Libre.
* Informez-les sur le travail de la FSFE et sur les raisons en quoi ça les concernent.
* Si vous pensez que votre compagnie peut bénéficier d'un enseignement légal sur le Logiciel Libre, orientez-les vers la Freedom Task Force.
* Encouragez-les á faire davantage pour assurer la liberté á l'ère numérique en faisant un don á la Free Software Foundation Europe.
