1. Coup d'oeil en arrière et en avant
2006 a été une année palpitante pour la communauté du Logiciel Libre et pour la FSFE.
La Free Software Foundation Europe a été et est toujours active dans la préparation de la nouvelle version de la GPL, la licence de Logiciel Libre la plus utilisée, le soutien aux efforts de la Commission Européenne pour faire cesser l'abus par Microsoft de son monopole, au Sommet Mondial des Nations Unies sur la Société de l'Information (WSIS), au Forum des Nations Unies sur la Gouvernance de l'Internet (IGF), auprès de l'Organisation Mondiale pour la Propriété Intellectuelle (OMPI/WIPO) et dans le projet SELF (Science Education and Learning in Freedom) financé par l'UE. En plus de cela, la FSFE a pris l'initiative majeure de lancer drm.info, un portail d'information sur les dangers de la Restriction Numérique des Droits (DRM).
Le projet sans doute le plus important pour l'année à venir sera le projet de Freedom Task Force (FTF) qui se propose de renseigner le public sur les licences, d'exercer des activités fiduciaires et d'agir dans l'application des licences dans le domaine du Logiciel Libre.
2007 sera une année importante pour le Logiciel libre : avec de plus en plus d'acteurs importants (comme Sun ou Novell) qui vont orienter une part croissante de leur activité économique vers le Logiciel Libre, les effets d'un simple mouvement de ces acteurs ont toujours plus de conséquences tant positives que négatives. L'existence d'une organisation indépendante telle que la FSFE qui se focalise sur des buts à long terme est essentielle pour l'équilibre de l'écosystème du Logiciel Libre.
2. Georg Greve au "Nexell Informiert"
A Zurich, Georg Greve a donné une conférence intitulée "Qu'est-ce que le Logiciel Libre et est-ce que les solutions de Logiciel Libre sont suffisamment professionnelles pour les affaires au quotidien?" à l'occasion du "Nexell Informiert". "Nexell Informiert" est un meeting à l'occasion duquel des experts sont invités à s'exprimer largement sur les issues du Logiciel Libre, il est organisé par Nexell, une équipe indépendante, internationale et multilingue de professionnels du CRM.
3. Devenez actif : Rejoignez la Fellowship!
La Fellowship de la FSFE est une communauté pour la liberté numérique. Devenir un Fellow est la manière la plus simple et la plus directe de soutenir la Free Software Foundation Europe et le Logiciel Libre en général. Les Fellows contribuent de trois façons : financièrement, par le poids qu'ils donnent à la voix de la FSFE et, s'ils le souhaitent, par le travail qu'ils effectuent.
Afin d'aider les Fellows à devenir actifs, la FSFE leur fournit une certaine infrastructure pour qu'ils puissent se rencontrer et se coordonner : un espace de blog sur fsfe.org, une re direction d'adresse e-mail, un compte jabber et des mailing-listes ad-hoc - tout ceci à disposition exclusive des Fellows.
Néanmoins, la plus belle chose qu'un Fellow reçoit de la FSFE est probablement la carte cryptographique personnalisée et conforme à l'OpenPGP qui permet à chaque Fellow de protéger sa liberté et sa vie privée directement et immédiatement.
