1. La FSFE s'intéresse à des irrégularités constatées sur le processus de vote à l'ISO
La FSFE s'est profondément impliquée dans le processus de vote de l'ISO sur la proposition de Microsoft concernant Office OpenXML, et a découvert des irrégularités importantes sur la manière dont les instances nationales de normalisation ont traité le sujet. Parmi les irrégularités relevées, notons des trucages aux comités, des conflits d'intérêts, des questions ignorées, et une légèreté dans prise en compte de problèmes légaux comme la vague « promesse de spécification ouverte » de Microsoft. Le président de la FSFE, Georg Greve, a été interviewé par ZDnet à propos du processus de vote international. En Suisse, la FSFE et le Swiss Internet User Group (SIUG) a enregistré des objections de forme sur le processus en cours dans l'instance nationale, qui ont été par la suite publiées par Groklaw:

2. Le réseau juridique informel de la FTF couvre maintenant seize pays européens
La Freedom Task Force de la FSFE a désormais des contacts avec des avocats en Autriche, Belgique, Bulgarie, France, Italie, Pologne, Portugal, Grèce, Allemagne, Espagne, Suisse, aux Pays-Bas et au Royaume Uni. Le réseau comprend également des chercheurs du domaine juridique en Irlande, Serbie et Suède et possède des contacts juridiques à Taiwan, Singapour, Canada, aux États-Unis et en Australie. Comme toujours, la FTF propose des consultations sur les questions de licences, des formations, des services fiduciaires et d'application des licences destinés aux personnes, aux projets et aux entreprises. 3. Deux jours pour les Logiciels Libres au Chili
Sur l'invitation du ministère chilien de l'éducation et en coordination avec notre organisation sœur la FSFLA et GNU Chile, le président de la FSFE, Georg Greve, a donné des conférences à l'Unuversidad Mayor et lors d'un évènement organisé par le ministère de l'éducation à Santiago. Georg Greve a également discuté de stratégie et de problèmes pratiques liés aux Logiciels Libres avec le vice-ministre de l'éducation, et de l'impact économique des Logiciels Libres avec le ministère des finances.
4. Le site de la Fellowship est désormais traduit en plusieurs langues
Grâce aux contributions du Fellow Alejandro Serrano et d'Ivan Čukić, avec l'aide d'autres programmeurs de la fellowship, fsfe.org accepte désormais l'ajout de contenu dans d'autres langues que l'anglais. Pour le moment seuls l'Italien, l'Espagnol et l'Allemand sont disponibles, mais les autres langues suivront. Le gros du travail a été de modifier l'interface utilisateur standard d'eZ Publish pour en déporter les fichiers dans un dépôt svn. Attendez- vous à de nouveaux changements et ajouts dans les prochaines semaines.
5. Premières rencontres dématérialisées de la Fellowship
Alors que les rencontres mensuelles de la Fellowship à Vienne sont devenues un jour fixe dans le calendrier des Fellows autrichiens, la rencontre d'août était spéciale: pour la première fois, une rencontre de la Fellowship a eu lieu en deux endroits au même moment. Les net.culture.labs de Vienne et Dornbirn ont accueilli cet événement, tous deux connectés en visioconférence sur une ligne internet à haut débit sponsorisée par Telekom Austria.

6. L'équipe allemande de la FSFE au FrOSCon
Grâce aux talents d'organisateur de Michael Kesper, des membres de l'équipe allemande de la FSFE ont participé au FrOSCon (St. Augustin, Allemagne) les 25 et 26 août derniers. Myriam Schweingruber a donné une conférence intitulée « Les femmes en informatique - Points de vue et explications possibles », et Michael Kesper a présenté des interactions avec d'autres projets. À l'entrée de la foire la FSFE a tenu un stand où ont eu lieu des discussions et où les accessoires de la FSFE et de la Fellowship étaient présentés.
7. Rencontres mensuelles des Fellows du bassin Rhin/Ruhr
Les Fellows du bassin Rhin/Ruhr tiennent une réunion publique avec des exposés le dernier mercredi de chaque à Dusseldorf. En août, le Fellow Me Michael Stehmann a parlé du nouvel article Par.202c dans le code pénal allemand, qui interdit la possession, l'utilisation, la publication et la distribution des prétendus « outils pour hackers ». Comme l'a dit Michael, ces régulations sont mal formulées, inutiles en pratique, et pourraient être utilisées comme instrument de pression contre des personnes innocentes. L'article 202c essaie de définir la simple possession d'outils génériques d'analyse de trafic réseau comme un délit.

8. Développement de la Fellowship à Kaiserslautern, Heidelberg, Darmstadt et Karlsruhe
Comme vous le savez, la FSFE essaie de maintenir le contact avec ses Fellows et d'en attirer des nouveaux. Ainsi, Joachim Jakobs a rencontrés des Groupes d'Utilisateurs de Linux (LUG) et d'autres groupes liés aux Logiciels Libres, autour de Kaiserslautern, Heidelberg, Darmstadt et Karlsruhe. Vendredi dernier il a rencontré le LUG de Landau, et bien que ce soit juste une petite ville, une douzaine de personnes sont venues. 9. La FSFE soutient la manifestation « Oui à la liberté, non à la peur » le 22 septembre
Des groupes de défense des libertés civiles appellent à les rejoindre pour une marche de protestation contre la surveillance excessive par les entreprises et les gouvernements. Le 22 septembre 2007, des citoyens préoccupés iront dans la rue avec le slogan « Oui à la liberté, non à la peur - stop à la manie de la surveillance! ». Le départ est fixé à 14h30 à la Pariser Platz (porte de Brandebourg), à Berlin. Le chapitre allemand de la FSFE a décidé de rejoindre cette manifestation et demande à tout le monde de venir.

11. Consultation sur les licences de Logiciel et de Documentation Libres
Les consultations publiques continuent pour la GNU Free Documentation License, la GNU Affero General Public License, et la nouvelle GNU Simpler Free Documentation License. Nous vous recommandons d'y jeter un œil aussitôt que possible si vous êtes en mesure d'avoir des commentaires à faire sur ces licences de documentation libre ou sur la version « Affero » de la GPL, qui traite aussi des logiciels utilisés à travers des réseaux publics:

Pendant ce temps, la FSFE a continué de fournir des conseils sur la GPLv3, depuis son lancement au milieu de l'été. L'absence de controverse est comprise comme le signe qu'un large compromis a effectivement été atteint, et qu'aucune erreur manifeste n'a été réalisée.
