1. Du WIPO au WIWO
Cherchant à approuver la déclaration de Genève, un groupe d'organisations a déclaré son appui en préconisant l'idée d'une "organisation mondiale de la richesse intellectuelle" à la place du WIPO. Cette organisation étudierait de nouvelles pistes et réponses à la problématique de la propriété intellectuelle, et ne se bornerait pas à appliquer soigneusement son rôle d'enregistrement des brevets qui a limité les monopoles sur la connaissance.

2. Via Libre devient une organisation associée
Fundación Vía Libre, un organisme pas convaincu par la capitalisation de logiciels libres en Argentine, est devenu une organisation associée de la FSFE. C'est le dernier point culminant d'une longue et productive histoire de coopération entre les Européens et les communautés latino-américaines de Logiciels Libres.
3. FSFE à la LWE de Francfort
La FSFE était à nouveau présente sur un stand à la LinuxWorld Expo de Francfort cette année en Allemagne, où deux membres de Wilhelm Tux, une organisation associée de la FSFE, sont venus se joindre à l'équipe.
4. Autres apparitions publiques
Lors d'une conférence appelée "E-Südtirol" à Bozen, en Italie, Georg Greve s'est exprimé au sujet de "l'autonomie et de la liberté de la connaissance dans la Société de l'information". Il a aussi participé à plusieurs ateliers lors de cet évènement.
Peu après, Georg Greve a assisté à Berlin à la conférence du "Zukunftsforum IT" organisée par le Handelsblatt, le journal économique le plus influent d'Allemagne, pour parler des horizons du Logiciel Libre.
Un peu plus tard, à Evora au Portugal, Georg Greve a fait une brève présentation et a participé à une table ronde lors de la conférence d'aLANtejo organisée par des étudiants de l'Université locale. Il a également profité de l'occasion pour rencontrer plusieurs personnes de la Communauté du Logiciel Libre au Portugal, en particulier l'organisation ANSOL associée de la FSFE, afin d'intensifier la coopération entre la FSFE et le mouvement portugais du Logiciel Libre.
Vers la fin du mois, Georg Greve a prononcé le discours d'ouverture de l'événement BerLINux à Berlin, en Allemagne.
5. La FSFE vise la municipalité de Pavie
La municipalité de Pavie a annoncé qu'elle aidera à établir une nouvelle structure de back-office dans les administrations publiques locales italiennes. Ce logiciel sera financé par les banques privées, développé par une compagnie italienne et distribué par Microsoft. La FSFE est parvenue à se faire inviter en tant qu'observateur dans le groupe de travail technique, où les caractéristiques du projet seront définies. La section d'Italie suivra la question de près et informera la communauté italienne.
6. Engineering, l'intégrateur système italien a choisi la licence GNU GPL.
La licence GNU GPL a été choisie par Engineering (www.eng.it), l'un des plus grands intégrateurs italiens, pour la sortie de sa plate-forme applicative SPAGO. Engineering a travaillé avec la FSFE pour s'assurer que la licence a été bien appliquée et également pour l'inviter à faire des observations sur l'administration du projet. Bien que le logiciel soit tombé dans le piège de Java, la Section italienne était heureuse de contribuer et espère voir plus de sociétés demander à la FSFE de soutenir leurs entreprises.
7. Dons via PayPal
Le soutien du travail de la FSFE vient de devenir plus facile pour ceux qui préfèrent contribuer par carte de crédit et/ou par l'intermédiaire du service de PayPal. Une page Web où le don en ligne peut être fait est disponible :
