1. La FSFE au Linuxtag à Wiesbaden (Allemagne)
Comme les années précédentes, le Linuxtag a été l'occasion pour les membres et Fellows de la FSFE de rencontrer des gens de la FSF Latin America et de la Free Software Initiative Japan, ainsi que de partager le stand de la FSFE avec eux. Karsten Gerloff a prononcé un discours sur le mouvement Access to Knowledge (A2K) et son contexte. Ciarán O'Riordan, Georg Greve (FSFE) et Federico Heinz (FSFLA) ont parlé de différents aspects de la GPLv3. Comme d'habitude, Volker Dormeyer a réalisé un excellent travail de logistique.
2. Atelier sur le Logiciel Libre à l'Académie de l'Armée allemande
Le Logiciel Libre entre dans un nombre croissant de domaines gouvernementaux. Lors d'une réunion visant à déterminer l'avenir stratégique du Logiciel Libre dans l'Armée allemande, Georg Greve a été invité par l'Académie de l'Armée allemande pour parler du Logiciel Libre et des questions que le logiciel soulève pour toutes les tâches de souveraineté gouvernementale, questions auxquelles le Logiciel Libre donne aujourd'hui les réponses les plus convaincantes.
3. La FSFE à plusieurs événements à Milan (Italie)
L'équipe italienne de la FSFE a participé à plusieurs événements ce mois-ci à Milan. Au « Linux World Summit », Stefano Maffulli et Cristian Rigamonti ont géré le stand de la Free Software Foundation Europe et participé à une discussion dédiée aux communautés italiennes du Logiciel Libre. Cristian Rigamonti a ensuite parlé du Logiciel Libre au « Gira e Respira » et il a animé une discussion en ligne à propos de la GPLv3 sur oilproject.org. Tous ces événements ont bénéficié du soutien des Fellows italiens.
4. La GPLv3 aux conférences SANE et UKUUG
Georg Greve a expliqué deux fois au cours du mois passé les raisons d'être de la version 3 de la GNU General Public License (GPL) et les changements qu'elle introduit et il a expliqué à l'audience le processus de mise à jour de la GPLv3. La première conférence était la 5ème conférence System Administration and Network Engineering (SANE) à Delft, aux Pays-Bas. La deuxième était une conférence vespérale de l'UKUUG, au Centre de Conférences Universitaire de Manchester, Royaume-Uni.
5. Georg Greve à l'université HGKZ à Zurich (Suisse)
Sur la demande de l'École d'Art et de Design de l'Université des Sciences Appliquées et des Arts de Zurich (HGKZ), le président de la FSFE Georg Greve a parlé à des étudiants d'art et de design du rôle pris par le logiciel dans la société numérique, et de ce que le Logiciel Libre signifie pour la société.
6. Karsten Gerloff à l'atelier eIFL à Kiev (Ukraine)
Les bibliothèques doivent en ce moment se battre avec des restrictions de copyright de plus en plus strictes, qui rendent plus difficile leur objectif de rassembler et de diffuser la connaissance. Une contre-mesure importante est pour les bibliothécaires de s'informer sur le copyright et de défendre leurs intérêts. À un atelier à Kiev (Ukraine), du 26 au 27 mai, Karsten Gerloff a parlé du Logiciel Libre et du partage de la connaissance ainsi que de l'Agenda de développement de l'Organisation Mondiale de la Propriété Intellectuelle et d'un Traité sur l'accès au savoir. L'audience était composée de bibliothécaires de l'ancienne Union Soviétique, de Mongolie, du Moyen-Orient et de l'Asie du Sud-Est.
7. Assemblée générale de la FSFE à Manchester (Royaume-Uni)
La FSFE a tenu son Assemblée générale le 27 mai 2006 à Manchester (Royaume-Uni). Les membres de l'assemblée ont passé le week-end entier à une revue de l'année passée et à des discussions animées et constructives sur les tâches et priorités futures.
8. Linuxwochen à Vienne (Autriche)
La FSFE était présente au plus grand événement sur le Logiciel Libre en Autriche, la Linuxwochen de Vienne. Pendant les trois jours de l'événement, des membres de la FSFE, des Fellows et des volontaires étaient disponibles au stand pour informer sur le travail de la FSFE et sur la Fellowship. Le premier jour, Karin Kosina a prononcé un discours intitulé « Logiciel Libre pour personnes libres » dans lequel elle a présenté la Free Software Foundation Europe. Le dernier jour, David Ayers et Karin Kosina ont fait une présentation de la GPLv3 qui a été très bien reçue et la discussion qui a suivi s'est révélée être très constructive.
