1. Réunions régionales et internationales de la Fellowship.
Les rencontres régionales de la Fellowship deviennent de plus en plus régulières: à Vienne où s'est tenue la quatrième réunion de la Fellowship autrichienne, les participants ont décidé de passer d'une rencontre bimensuelle à une rencontre mensuelle. A Düsseldorf a été organisée la première rencontre de la Fellowship de la région de la Ruhr et d'autres vont suivre.
Parallèlement, les préparatifs pour la première rencontre internationale de la Fellowship à Bolzano en Italie vont bon train.

2. La FSFE aux Wizards of OS à Berlin
La Free Software Foundation Europe a participé aux Wizards of OS 4, du 14 au 16 septembre à Berlin en Allemagne. Une équipe de 12 personnes - membres et volontaires de la FSFE - s'est relayée sur le stand pour informer les personnes intéressées sur les questions relatives au Logiciel Libre.
Durant la manifestation Bernhard Reiter s'est exprimé sur le Logiciel Libre en général, les Logiciels Libres dans l'enseignement, les sciences et l'administration publique, les brevets logiciels, les modèles d'affaires des Logiciels Libres, la gestion des restrictions numériques (DRM) et le travail de la FSFE. Georg Greve a tenu plusieurs conférences de presse. L'une d'entre elles, concernant entre autres le Logiciel Libre comme culture technique, la manière de contribuer au Logiciel Libre et d'autres sujets, est également disponible en ligne en allemand.

Le vendredi, Ciaran O'Riordan et Georg Greve ont animé l'atelier sur la GPLv3 dans lequel ils ont présenté les questions d'actualité et la manière dont chacun peut participer au processus de mise à jour.

Le samedi Matthias Kirschner a participé au « Show of Free Knowledge » (Exposition de la connaissance libre) durant lequel il a expliqué le principe du Logiciel Libre en utilisant l'analogie de la recette de cuisine.

3. Georg Greve à l'atelier du SERCI à Helsinki, Finlande
Le Président de la FSFE Georg Greve était invité à participer à un séminaire de la Société pour la recherche économique sur les conséquences du copyright (SERCI) sur la question des droits de copie et des brevets logiciels. En tant qu'orateur dans un panel représentatif avec des participants de Nokia, de Microsoft et de la FFII (Foundation for a Free Information Infrastructure - Association pour une infrastructure de l'information libre), Georg Greve a répondu à des questions sur les aspects politiques de la liberté logicielle et sur le procès anti-trust contre Microsoft. 4. La FSFE à l'assemblée générale de l'OMPI
À la fin septembre s'est tenue l'assemblée générale de l'OMPI, l'organisme des Nations Unies pour les questions relatives aux droits de reproduction, brevets et problèmes connexes. Deux points très controversés étaient à l'ordre du jour de l'assemblée de cette année: l'avenir du plan d'action pour la réforme de l'OMPI et l'éventuel traité de radiodiffusion. Comme l'a rapporté jeudi le Président de la FSFE Georg Greve, lors de l'AG de l'OMPI, tous deux semblent évoluer mieux qu'on aurait pu le craindre:

5. Autres apparitions publiques
Rainer Kersten, Bernhard Reiter et Werner Koch ont représenté la FSFE lors d'un événement nommé « come2linux » à Essen, en Allemagne, où ils ont eu quelques très intéressantes conversations avec des personnes intéressées par les fondements du Logiciel Libre.
Patrick Ohnewein et Reinhard Müller se sont tous deux exprimés lors d'une manifestation sur le Logiciel Libre à Hall, dans le Tyrol, en Autriche, appelée le « Tiroler Linuxtag ». Patrick a parlé du CoCOS, un centre de compétences pour le Logiciel Libre, et du Logiciel Libre au Tyrol du Sud. Reinhard a fait une présentation générale du Logiciel Libre et donné des informations sur la Fellowship.
Lors de la conférence annuelle KDE de cette année, à Dublin en Ireland, Ciaràn O'Riordan s'est exprimé sur les brevets de logiciels et a mené une session informelle sur la GPLv3.
