Hi all,
and many thanks to all who have helped with translations and proofreading for PDFreaders so far.
I have updated http://pdfreaders.julipan.org with the latest corrections and will publish the site like this to http://pdfreaders.org in less than 12 hours (i.e. before 11.00 tomorrow Monday). If there are anything more that should be changed, please let me know ASAP.
The press release will be sent out immediately thereafter. We currently have the PR in English, French, German, and Italian.
I proofread the German translation of the PR[1] and it looks good to me (a special thanks goes to Bjoern for stepping in with the last minute translation). However, I am not a good substitute for a native speaker, so feel free to take a quick look at it before 11.00 tomorrow if you are.
all the best, /Stian

Hi Stian,
I haven't seen that you already changed the site, and realised my suggestions, so forget about my last Mail.
I read the site again, and still found 2 "bugs", both on "Über PDFReaders"
First one:
Please change: "Falls Sie mehr über Freie Software und Offene Standards lernen möchten, könnten Sie folgende Links nützlich finden zu interessieren:"
to
"Falls Sie mehr über Freie Software und Offene Standards lernen möchten, könnten Sie folgende Links interessieren:"
Second point:
The word "Teilhabe" doesn't even exist. Neither on dict.leo.org nor in my duden and my Langenscheidt dictionary. That's also a hint for you, Matthias, you may want to remove it on your other sites.
So please change this:
"Der Zugang zu Software entscheidet über die Teilhabe an der digitalen Gesellschaft."
to
"Der Zugang zu Software entscheidet über die Teilnahme an der digitalen Gesellschaft."
Thanks for that, and thanks to all that worked on this campaign!
Good night
Henner

To late, I already replied before I noticed this one ;-)
I'll update with your latest two changes, as I don't believe they should be very controversial.
all the best, /Stian
Me again.

Indeed.
But as I have to note: I found the word Teilhabe in my Duden, so it does exist. Still not on dict.leo and in my Langenscheit's dictionary, but overall I wanted to correct myself in that point.
But I would still be happy if you could change it, as I consider it as a weird word.
Bye

http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teilhabe:
* Die gleichberechtigte Teilhabe aller Bürger an den Prozessen der Politik ist eine grundlegende Voraussetzung für moderne Demokratien.
* Im Verfassungsrecht unterscheidet man zwischen „Abwehrrechten“ und „Teilhaberechten“ (einer Gruppe von Grundrechten)
But I would still be happy if you could change it, as I consider it as a weird word.
I vote for either "Teilhabe" or "Partizipation" !!
"Man nimmt teil an einem Wettbewerb, aber man hat Teil an gesellschaftlichem Fortschritt (oder halt auch nicht)" -> Teilhabe impliziert, dass einem etwas zu Teil wird, also dass man etwas bekommt. Teilnahme impliziert das nicht. Da macht man etwas oder man lässt es bleiben. => Das ist ein Unterschied [/korinthenkackerei]

Hi Hannes, Hi Henner, Hi Stian,
(for language discussion, it is good to CC translators@ as well.)

I am also in favor of "Teilhabe". "Teilhabe" is much more than "Teilnahme". Also it is the standard boilerplat of FSFE. If we do changes on that part, we have to coordinate with translators@ and for the boilerplate with the country team of that language (in that case germany@).
Henner, if that sounds wired we should have that discussion on translators@ to find a better way to write down the boilerplate. But for the time being we should not change the boilerplat without coordinating. So Stian, can you please change "Teilnahme" to "Teilhabe"?
Beside that: The current translations are not fixed, we can always change them in the future when we have a better translation.
Best wishes, Matthias
the second "weiterlesen" on the German site links to the English version of the FSFE-Free Software-site not to the German one. Other than that, gogo!
