Dear PDFreaders.org Team,
I am of the opinion that we should call upon Free Software authors, website owners and other interested parties to use http://pdfreaders.org/graphics/pdfreaders-f-32px.png icon to denote PDF files. I propose to do this by publishing a general call on pdfreaders.org or fsfe.org (you can find the draft at https://public.pad.fsfe.org/p/Icon) and contacting the authors of the free readers listed on PDFreaders.org and asking them to associate the icon with PDF files.
You can find my rationale for the proposal in the draft.
What do you think of the idea in general? Would it be worth attempting?
What do you think of my draft call? Too short, long, simple, complex? Suitable?
Any and all feedback will be graciously accepted.
Yours aye,

I have an issue, that has more to do with the green colour of the icon that with the idea itself. PDF is associated with Adobe in people's minds, but it's primarily associated with the red/white colour scheme IMHO. I think that deriving from this is a bad idea for an icon which primary purpose is to be easily identified and understood by anyone.
Otherwise, I think it's good. Not sure how exactly we should make this a "call" I think we should first investigate other ways to see if that might work. I think I have started using the icon myself anyway :-)
