Hey,
I just saw that pdfreaders.org has no favicon!
I attached one, stian, can you upload it?
Thx and greets,
HennR

Thanks, but actually it has been there for quite a while ;-) I can furthermore confirm that it works for me and that a favicon is present in the root folder.
all the best, /Stian

Which browser are you using? I tried it with Iceweasel and Epiphany (both Debian Lenny) and can't see the favicon.
Also in the sources of the webpage i can't see an entry in <head></head> for the favicon.
Normally there should be something like: <link rel="icon" href="favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon" /> <link rel="shortcut icon" href="favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon" />
best wishes, Björn

With me it shows up in Firefox, Epiphany and Konqueror (on Ubuntu)

Ah, I didn't think that would be necessary but I'll add it right away.
best, /Stian

I've added the meta-tags now. Please let me know whether the icon renders nicely.

i still can't see the favicon. But you link to http://www.pdfreaders.org/favicon.ico and it seems like favicon.ico doesn't exists at all.
best wishes, Björn

You're right! Then the mystery is rather why it shows up in my browsers (which probably is cache-related somehow), and why it's not copied to output like other graphics.
Previously, I had uploaded the icon manually, but Matthias showed me how to have it automatically copied during generation by including
Copy: add: [**/*.pdf] add: [**/*.ico] add: [**/*.svg]
in config.yaml. It works fine for the svg files, so I had assumed it worked fine for the icon as well. Running webgen locally does not copy the icon either, so the problem definitely lies here.
I've CC'd Cri in the hope that he might help us out a bit.
Cri, does the icon copying work on other fsfs pages that use webgen? Could you perhaps upload the icon manually for us, so that we at least have a short term solution? You'll find it attached.
all the best, /Stian

I have talked to Thomas Leitner about that and he said he added it to the default copy handler in the future.
Best wishes, Matthias

The only site using webgen at the moment is test.fsfe.org and the favicon gets copied. I've no idea why it shouldn't work for pdfreaders.org, since the two config.yaml files are practically identical, except that the pdfreaders.org one has an additional "add: [**/*.svg]" line.

I've patched the build script to copy the favicon from /src at the end of each rebuild. Once you have debugged the problem in webgen, let me know and I'll disable this.
