It seems one more thing showed up. As you probably noticed it was suggested by Gervase Markham, and echoed by Rainer, that we change "please contact us" to something like "please contact us at feedback@pdfreaders.org", i.e. making it more visible that it actually is a contact link. Do you all agree that this is a good idea?
Yes, good idea!
We should also reply to Gervase, but I'm not really sure what we should say. As was the conclusion of our previous discussion, "usability" is secondary to having sufficient and correct information and it is not a goal in itself to have people "automatically" installing *any* free reader. Is this something that we can state publicly and give as an answer to people who ask about these issues?
I tend to say yes.
I contacted the author of sumatra, and it seems that he think if we link to the exe instead of his project page that we don't respect his "hard work". That's what he said.
I will write him a last time, being aware of his feelings, I will be careful.
We are already linking to the project page. We are discussing whether the DOWNLOAD-link refers to the download-page or directly to the DOWNLOAD.
I don't see that this could insult anyone or that we should need to ask someone on our policies regarding this decision.
