But as I have to note: I found the word Teilhabe in my Duden, so it does exist. Still not on dict.leo and in my Langenscheit's dictionary, but overall I wanted to correct myself in that point.

I vote for either "Teilhabe" or "Partizipation" !!
"Man nimmt teil an einem Wettbewerb, aber man hat Teil an gesellschaftlichem Fortschritt (oder halt auch nicht)" -> Teilhabe impliziert, dass einem etwas zu Teil wird, also dass man etwas bekommt. Teilnahme impliziert das nicht. Da macht man etwas oder man lässt es bleiben. => Das ist ein Unterschied [/korinthenkackerei]
