PDF Reader enforces DRM

Hi there, I just wanted to point out that one of your recommended PDF Readers (Sumatra PDF) enforces DRM, without a way for the average user to disable this option. Furthermore this function was included in an automated software update to a previously unrestricted version. What's the FSFE policy about this kind of software, should it be recommended? best regards, Daniel

Embedded signature

Dear friends, I have a question that I seem to have read when discussing PDFreaders for public administrations, and is what tools can be used to digitally sign a PDF with an embedded (*not* a detached, via .p7m) signature, and what can be used to verify a signed PDF (there are online tools for this, pretty sure). Recommendation of the German BSI

Hi, I just contacted the German DAAD because they are recommending Adobe's Acrobat in their newsletter e-mail. They assured me that they would modify the recommendation for the next newsletter. :) Anyway, they also told me that they were following the recommendation by the German BSI https://www.bsi-fuer-buerger.de/SharedDocs/Downloads/DE/BSIFB/Publikationen… 'Zur Darstellung von PDF-Dateien sollten Sie die Version Adobe Reader X des kostenlosen Adobe Readers(http://adobe.com/reader) nutzen, da diese über zusätzliche Sicherheitsmaßnahmen, wie eine „Sandbox“(engl. übersetzt: „Sandkasten“, d.h. diese Software ist vom Rest des Systems abgeschirmt) verfügt.' Has anybody ever looked into this recommendation? julian PS: Is pdfreaders a private list? Or can one subscribe somehow?
