Dear reader,
Recently I was looking at the possibility of a (small) donation to your
foundation. As a Dutch citizen I contacted our tax authorities to find out
whether this donation to a foreign institution could be tax deductible, since
that would allow a bigger gift for the same cost to me. I was told that you
are not yet on the list of approved foundations.
The list from 2010.03.30 is:
http://download.belastingdienst.nl/belastingdienst/docs/alfabetische_lijst_…
[ANBI is the abbreviation of the Dutch phrase "Algemeen nut beogende
instelling", which might be translated as "foundation for the common good".]
The current list contains some foreign institutions, including from Germany
("Duitsland").
According to my information, institutions have to apply for inclusion
in the list via forms that can be obtained at the following address:
Belastingdienst/Oost-Brabant
ANBI-team
Postbus 70505
5201 CG ’S-HERTOGENBOSCH
Nederland
which is listed on the following page:
http://www.belastingdienst.nl/variabel/niet_commerciele_organisaties/niet_c…
Actually, I was surprised that your foundation is not yet on the list. It
could mean that there are other ways to make tax-deductible gifts. Or are the
Dutch donations too small for the trouble to get listed?
I would appreciate it if you would inform me about whether you are going to
apply for the Dutch ANBI listing (and if in this year) and about any other
relevant information that you have on making tax deductible donations from the
Netherlands.
Regards and thanks,

Sure.
Just for reference, please find attached the sponsorship overview,
giving you an idea what each sponsorship level brings.

I am very sorry about the delay in confirmation. I received your
request on the 15th and started preparing the revised document earlier
this week. However, I am processing the majority of my FSFE email
today, and had not sent the reply yet.
Please find the updated sponsorship document attached. Do let me know
if all the corrections match your requirements, and if anything else is
needed. Our office is CC'd in this thread, so you can request a German
donation receipt as required simply by replying to this mail. I am not
sure if this would be useful for US tax purposes, but the option is there.
Thank you again for supporting of the event. HP has long been a key
friend of the European Legal Network, and it's great to work together in
2011. Do you think you might personally attend? It would be excellent
to have an update regarding the revamped FOSSBazaar for the network
delegates.
Regards
Shane

Sehr geehrte FSFE MitarbeiterInnen,

I just happened to see on http://www.fosdem.org/2011/call_for_stands
that stands for FOSDEM must be requested before 6 December 2010.
Is anybody processing this?
Thanks,
Reinhard
Hallo Rainer,
Karsten

Wer keinen Atomstrom und keinen C02-Strom will, sollte sich mal
Naturstrom anschauen (www.naturstrom.de)! Oft günstiger als beim lokalen Versorger!
fyi, in case we're receiving any money from Vodafone: They've
changed their invoice processing system.
No need for action ATM.
Best regards,
Karsten
