Dear Jonas,
as discussed, I've talked with our new tax consultant about your salary,
and we all agree that your salary should not be taxed in Germany.
However, German law requires an explicit approval
(Freistellungsbescheid) of every single case by tax authorities which
formally then acknowledges that this single case is not taxable in
Germany. This is a purely formal process and you don't have to bother
with this at all, actually.
The point is that this process hasn't finished early enough for your
August salary, so we still deducted some wage tax this time. I expect to
not deduct any wage tax any more for September and following salaries.
Thanks,
Reinhard
