Hi Sam,
How admirable you were to come to lead the FSFE meeting last Thursday evening after the fatal accident. Hope you get well soon.
I'd be happy to help with the following two tasks (perhaps on this year's Document Freedom Day). Will also print and disseminate the DFD posters around. * * *- Somebody to ask Devon to add an explanation to their link to pdfreaders about what a Free Software PDF reader is - Somebody to file lots of freedom of information requests to ask councils what information do they have about their PDF advice, how does this comply with national law, and what steps have they taken to consider free software alternatives as recommendations to the public*
Best wishes, Yuwei

Dear all,
sorry for non replies - been somewhat ill.
Mark, Google: I wasn't exactly happy before, becuase google not only keep data, but have so many oppertunities for gathering it: from scholar to youtube, they are everywhere. While the idea that the data is all going to be in one place is disturbing in many ways, in otherways, I suppose i will be able to find out what they have on me more easily now.... but then so can eveyone else. In all honesty, I don't ALLWAYS mind the data collection thing. I mean, how harmfull is it if more people know I am vegan and prefer academic sources of info to trashandtrivia etc. Its just that I know google also watches those FEW times I get sucked in to something stupid, who is married to who and who is or is not gay, and just which gender IS lady gaGAAAAGGGHH? I guess thats usefull info. I think I am waffeling. Anyway - any news is bad news with these things, and yes, I aggree - they have been manipulative in their wording, despite ramming it down their throat that these is a change, its been tough to find the change. I am working on de-googling, but I suspect this is a losing battle.
FOI: I wait keenly for this info, and will try and work on my FSFE to do list this week. Got a last min fair in b'ham this sat though so week is more full than expected.
Emails I missed: really sorry if I have missed a few emails too, my borther has just moved in with us, been a bit distracted. :(
Best
Anna
