Hi. I'm hoping to go (and help pending reply.) to the OpenRightsGroup Conference on April 13th. I will be travelling up from Buckinghamshire. I was planning to stay one night before and after the conference due to travel times. Before I book any accomodation, I was checking if anyone had any suggestions, or offers of a floor for my sleeping bag.
I would be planning to journey by coach, but would be happy to share petrol costs if anyone is travelling up the M40 or M1.
I am 18 years old, self taught, and keen on free rights issues.
Alexander
Hi Stephen,
I don't know if anyone has replied to you directly, rather than on-list - but I'd just like to say that this is still a fairly small list (AFAIK) so I hope you have also posted requests in one or two other places :-)
Can't think of specific lists/forums at the mo, but the Pirate Party might be a good place to start, and I guess the Manchester Branch of the open rights group will have its own online forum too.
Actually I still don't know if I'll be going over t'pennines to the OrgCon - as next month will be fairly busy for me - but it does look interesting.
Good luck with your accommodation/floorspace hunt.
David

Hi, sorry, I only just saw this? You need some place to stay in Manchester? You would be welcome to stay with us, we have a spare room (its a bit "pink") and can drive you to town. Also, Richard Stallman once stayed here so you would be sleeping on a hallowed mattress :)
Email me back :)

Yo.
I'm actually one of the sponsors of ORGCON North, formerly-ish pirate party-ery, free softwarey, and once upon a time a keen teenage conference visitor. Happy to lend our sofa to a visitor from out of town.
Drop me an email to 'td at tdobson . net' with the nights you need to stay, I'm based in the M13 postcode, (20-30 mins walk from main train and coach station) and will be making my way to/from the conference.
Feel free to take up Anna's request, I can confirm she is a real person too. :)
[FWIW, I strongly suspect there will be an ORGCON later in the year in London, but that is not gospel]
Oh, I'm offline til the 1st of April-ish, so no reponse can really be expected before then.
cheers,
Tim
