Another possibly useful resource.
This was posted on the CrunchBang forums - but much of it is transferable to other flavours of Linux.

thanks! too complex for me maybe, looks exhausting. I miss crunchbang - its such a great OS. Unfortunately totally impossible to edit video on it!
I didn't read the whole thread: Dave@ did you see if they put it in a booki or anything? Like with Flossmanuals?

Ah yes, I remember this. They had an EFF logo on it, but they are not EFF - it was quite odd. Looks like they took it down.
Also I remember people debating whether or not the software had been categorized correctly, lol.
I would really love to see a site like this but that is similar to TOS-DR - where people can state how free, how stable, how simple etc each FS is. It would serve as a recommendations site, like the PDF-readers site, where software appropriate for your current OS is highlighted too :)
Just not got the time! I would love it if FSFE would sponsor this in some way though - they don't recommend software, but in this instance it would not be them recommending it, but the users voting independently.
