Hi, I am a GNU and FreeSoftware fan also a *nix System Administrator since couple of years ago and I just moved to Borås, so was looking for LUGs, UUGs, and FSF fans (activists) around. Then I found "Göteborg FSF-E fellowship Group" through the FSFE web site [1] also there are information around the group and meetings on GNUTiken website [2], I have some questions about your meetings: * Do your meetings running in Swedish or English (Or some thing else)? * Do I need to be a official member of FSFE.org to participate meetings? * I found a address of gnutiken [3] that is "Övre Husargatan 27, Göteborg" [4] is that the place you meet each other? * Do your meetings are formal or they like LUG session (Serious but Geeky!)
Actually the first question recalls my inability in talking Swedish (Trying to fix this bug ASAP), but seeing FSF activists in any language is pleasant experiment ;)
regards;

Hi Navid,
and welcome to the neighborhood!

If there are people present who do not speak Swedish, we use English.
- Do I need to be a official member of FSFE.org to participate
meetings?
Not at all. We do, however, recommend people to join the Fellowship of the FSFE ( http://fellowship.fsfe.org ) if they wish and can support the organisation financially.
- I found a address of gnutiken [3] that is "Övre Husargatan 27,
Göteborg" [4] is that the place you meet each other?
Yes, that's the adress of our Gnutique, where we meet. We also have open every weekday from 12-19, so feel free to drop by any time.

Somewhere in between, I'd say. As the GBG Fellowship group in great part consists of activists, we spend a lot of time discussing campaigns, ideas and concepts. If there is something that needs to be decided in a democratic way, we do it formally, but the discussions are very informal.
There's a meeting coming up this Thursday at 18:00, where we'll begin by screening the film The Yes Men Fix the World. I'll shortly send out a reminder to the list.
All the best, Stian

My self I will not have the possibility to join. I hope however that there will be time for you to discuss the Free E-mail Association (may be FREPO). Pleas take a tour on the wiki [1] to get an idea of the idea. Stefan Kangas will prepare some budget proposals to the meeting.
Best regards Gustav

I would like to cast a vote for Fri-P, pronounced (in swedish) "frippe" which is what we used to say as kids, when we played some game and you were "untouchable" = you were totally "free" and no one could touch or get to you. :)

This is in my opinion as good a suggestion as "frepo", but the domain name frippe.se is unfortunately already registered.
Maybe it is wiser to choose the mnemonic friepost.se or even fri-epost.se in favor of both these suggestions.
One way or the other, we need some sort of decision.
In other words, it is good if people give this some thought and voice their opinion. I have prepared a small summary of some of the suggestions and whether or not the domain name is available.[1] Feel free to update the wiki with any further suggestions.
