Regarding Free Software Licensing, FSF explains some more why companies should
switch to GPLv3 and the Linux Foundation publishes version 1.0 of SPDX —
their standard format for communicating free software license and copyright
information.
I would also like to point you out to a recent evolvement in the US regarding
Software Patents — read Does not compute: court says only hard math is
patentable.
W3C made it now made easier to initiate new development projects (see Open
Standards).
In the Other interesting links section under the title All Your BASH Are
Belong to Us you will find a disturbing tale of a legal case featuring BASH
scripts.

Hoj,
v prejšnji niti se je začela debata glede COKS-ovega paketa Odprta Koda za
Nevladne Organizacije (OKNO) ter Kiberpipinh Prostih programov za Windows in
da bi to en tak projekt lahko nadaljevali.
Da bi spravili vse to znanje na kup in lažje debatirali na to temo, sem

The past two weeks were quite eventful. Especially regarding patents, where a
surprisingly huge amount of critique over patents was done, after the Nortel
patent portfolio is being bought by the Rockstar consortium (Apple, Microsoft,
RIM, etc.). I would especially like to point you out to the two articles
published by Forbes (see Software Patents)
As far as business and patents go, the biggest news item was probably Google
planning to acquire Motorola Mobility (see Free Software Business).
In the Open Standards department, there is an interesting shift, as Skype
(recently acquired by Microsoft) decides to use Google's VP8 open standard
video codec for their video calls.
