Hi all
If we could find a common time preferably in the evening for an kick off IRC discussion then we could start to address and pick up on these things and also just say Hi and have a short introduction.

Seems to me that either having a separate channel or agreeing on a time would be best for IRC discussions, or everything is kept to the mailing list. I'd also like to discuss the organisation of the group, who needs to update the wiki and with what, what are the things about the NFSA that need doing, etc.

Hi everyone,
and first of all a good thank you to Joonas, Petri, Alexander, Daniel and Oscar for your encouragement and offer for ideas and help!
First a note about communication: my feeling is that if possible, we can try to keep as much as possible of our discussions on the general fsfe-nordic list. We're few enough that splitting us into fsfe-{fi,se,dk,no,is,fo} doesn't feel useful :)
Right now there are 13 people subscribed to fsfe-nordic and from the
first
emails it seems we might be around 5-6 who more actively want to support this, which is a great size for a team!
Would someone like to coordinate some IRC chats? We could use the #fsfe channel, and it doesn't need to be very elaborate: but someone needs to send invitations, update the wiki, and post a few lines to the list afterwards with the main points discussed.
I would then propose we first think of the Nordic Free Software Award. I can volunteer to write up something about it for us to start from, based on when we awarded it last (ca 2007-2012 or so). We can try to get some sponsors for it, but we can also ask the FSFE for some funding for this which we might need to at least cover the travel costs for the award
winner
to wherever we decide to award it :)
