Hi all,
Can anybody make any comment on choosing ISP in Dublin?
In other places where I've lived I've tried to avoid the incumbent (e.g. Eircom, BT, Telstra) and the cable operators and choose an ISP where the support staff are a bit more accessible, features like static IP or IPv6 and where there are no games such as VoIP blocking, throttling or NATting. Usually I choose one of the companies that has a more business or hacker-oriented approach.
Are there options like that in Dublin?
Regards,
Daniel
Hi Daniel,
Can anybody make any comment on choosing ISP in Dublin?
I've been using Virgin for a good while (since it was UPC) and the service has been very reliable. It's billed as 100Mbps I think and speedtest.net gave me 86 just now, on a wired Ethernet desktop. I don't try to run servers or do anything fancy, though, so I'm afraid I can't comment on how they'd be for that. Good luck!
Ben.
