There will be a workshop hosted 20th of December to explore the way forward for the Free/Open Source sector in Ireland. This event will be hosted in Newry by the New and Emerging Technologies Cluster and will involve major players in the sector from both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. The workshop will build on a number of key themes and ideas, including proposals for an all-island F/OSS business network.

Speakers will include representatives from Mandriva Ireland, InterTradeIreland, OpenIreland, BorderVision, the Belfast Linux Users Group. A primary aim of this event is to give those with experience in the area of Free and Open Source software an opportunity to engage in a public discussion about how the industry should move forward.
