This register report says the FSFE will be represented at this hearing. The EC maintains (rightly in my view) that MS must abide by the judgement that it ship the OS without media player, while awaiting the appeal. The appeal will take 'up to 3 years' and in the EC view if they don't abide meantime the result will be meaningless.

Yes, and from what it seems, we've been admitted to the case although we're still waiting for final confirmation from our lawyer who should be travelling back to Italy today from Luxemburg.

If you could help us alert Irish companies to the imminent dangers of giving Microsoft the legal means to kill SAMBA -- because that is to a large extent what this case is about -- that would be great, because we need more support in particular by companies to keep up all these activities.
