Einerseits hast du Recht, dass Interoperabilitaet in diesem Fall ein Geschenk an die Firma ist bzw. deren Format unterstuetzt. Andererseits ist es nunmal der Wunsch der Benutzer, dieses Format auch verarbeiten zu koennen.
Selbst das Unternehmen, dass dieses Scheusal in die Welt gesetzt, aber bislang wohl nicht einmal selbst "richtig" implementiert hat, scheint an diesem Format auf mittlere Sicht nicht mehr festhalten zu wollen. Diesen Erkenntnisprozess kann man nur begrüßen und sollte man fördern ;-).
Durch Ignorieren von geschaffenen Tatsachen wirst du aber als Softwareprojekt nicht weit kommen.
Rob Weir hat natuerlich Recht mit seinem Einwand, dass OOXML applikationsspezifisches Verhalten abbildet, das nie 100% in einer anderen Applikation umsetzbar ist, die nicht das gleiche model benutzt. Deswegen hat MS sich damit auch teilweise selbst ein Bein gestellt.
Auch fürchte ich, dass derartige Bemühungen zum Eindruck führen könnten, Freie Software sei nicht in der Lage, einen offenen Standard "richtig" zu implementieren, was dem Ruf Freier Software schon sehr schaden kann.
Was schadet mehr, die Weigerung aus politischen Gruenden dieses Fornat zu implementieren, oder der Versuch es so gut wie moeglich (oder wenigstens das Noetige) zu tun und damit den Einsatz von Freier Software zu ermoeglichen?
Bedenke, dass es im Bereich Firmen, Behoerden und Verwaltung zumeist darum geht, bereits existierende Dokumente und Ablaeufe verarbeiten zu koennen und auszutauschen, da spielt ODF vs OOXML und welches dieser Formate denn das ideologisch korrekte sein koennte eine eher untergeordnete Rolle, wenn ueberhaupt. Lobenswert, wenn ODF als Standard eingesetzt werden soll, notwendiges Uebel wenn zusaetzlich auch noch MS-Formate (egal ob jetzt binaeres .doc/.xls oder OOXML) zum Einsatz kommen. Das Fazit der Entscheidungskette lautet dann nicht ODF oder OOXML, sondern LO/OOo oder MS-Office (und wenn das dann damit zwangslaeufig OOXML). Hier koennen wir es als Erfolg sehen, wenn die Entscheidung zugunsten von Freier Software ausfaellt. Diese Entscheidung scheint wohl in Freiburg auf der Kippe zu stehen.

Wenn jetzt LO das auch könnte, und zwar nicht ganz, dann würden die das auch wieder für diese Beeinflussung nutzen. Sie können sogar schreiben: Es gibt keinen Grund für LO, sogar die müssen sich uns beugen und wir sind das Original.

MS haelt so oder so seine PR-Maschine in Gang, da koennen LO/OOo machen was sie wollen. Wenn die Entscheidung von der Standardisierung OOXMLs beeinflusst wird, wovon ich auch ausgehe, was sollte LO dann deiner Meinung nach tun?

Ich weiss nur, dass der workshop u.a. dazu dienen soll, Loesungsmoeglichkeiten zu entwickeln um diesem Projekt zum Erfolg zu verhelfen. Genaueres koennten vielleicht die dort involvierten beitragen.
