Hallo zusammen,
Ich habe kürzlich die Seite http://www.metas.ch/metasweb/Fachbereiche/Waagen/Gravitationszonen besucht und war erschrocken, eine Microsoft-Reklame für Silverlight zu sehen. Wenn man weiter klickt, kommt die Aufforderung, .NET zu installieren, wenn man die Gravitationszone seiner Wohngemeinde in Erfahrung bringen will.
Nun gab es ja eine Linux-Implementation davon namens Mono und Moonlight, aber das wird offenbar nicht mehr entwickelt und ich bin hier nicht bereit zu experimentieren.
Ich frage mich, ob eine staatliche Institution wie METAS (Teil der schweizerischen Bundesverwaltung) diese Information nicht für alle Leute bereitstellen müsste und nicht nur für Benutzer von Microsoft .NET und Silverlight.
Ich habe den zuständigen Beamten kontaktiert. Er versprach, es weiterzuleiten und sagte, die Webseite oder Website werde erneuert, und wenn ich Verbesserungsvorschläge hätte, seien diese willkommen.
Was könnte ich also anregen, was realistisch ist? Gibt es eine Möglichkeit, eine Silverlight App in was vernünftiges zu übersetzen, oder die Daten herauszuziehen und in sinnvoller Form abzuspeichern? Vermutlich wäre das Amt ja behilflich und würde vielleicht sogar etwas zahlen. Die Schweiz versenkt bekanntlich hunderte von Millionen in gescheiterte Informatik Projekte, und wie gerade bekannt wurde, auch auf Grund von handfester Korruption. D.h. sie sind jetzt etwas in der Defensive und würden vielleicht ein gutes, harmloses und nicht zu teures Projekt unterstützen.
Hat jemand von Euch ein Windows mit .NET und Silverlight und kann schauen, was da dahinter ist?

es scheint da ja zwei Anwendungen zu geben: a) die einfache Suche in Silverlight b) die installierbare Anwendung mit .net Es besteht durchaus die Möglichkeit dass das .net Zeugs direkt mit Mono läuft.
Vermutlich wäre der modernere Ansatz heute dafür eine Webanwendung zu nutzen, welche mit Javascript agiert. Sofern die Datenbank nicht so groß ist, kann diese mitgeliefert werden, dann würde die Anwendung auch offline crossplattform funktionieren.
Vermutlich besteht die Datenbank aus einem haufen Einträge, wie Gemeindename, Orts-koordinaten oder Polygone, Gravitationswert.
Ein leicht bessere Anwendung funktioniert mit responsive Design (z.B. bootstrap 3 oder foundation 5 javascript) auch auf mobilen Geräten mit kleinem Tastbildschirm und kann optional eine Orts Informationen nutzen.
Klar, die Anwendung sollte Freie Software sein und die Datenbank auch öffentlich verfügbar.
