Oh man, ich muss es einfach mal niederschreiben... Meine Mutter ist Erzieherin. In ihrer Einrichtung gibt es 4 total veraltete Pcs mit XP welche von einer PC-Beauftragten (ebenfalls Erzieherin) "behütet" werden sollen. Diese nimmt ihr wissen aus einem Computerbuch für Kinder für das Betriebssystem Windows 98.
Gut, sie müssen einmal im Jahr Berichte schreiben. Natürlich nutzt keiner diese Rechner. Entweder sie werden zuhause am Rechner geschrieben oder handschriftlich und die Sekretärin darf sie abtippen.
Nun gibt es eine Anweisung, dass alle Nacheinander in 4Tage lang eine Einführung in Word 2002 haben sollen...
Mal abgesehen davon, dass der Chef vermutlich versucht, denen Freitage (welche es fürs schreiben der Berichte gab) zu kürzen und die Leute die Berichte in der Arbeitszeit versucht schreiben zu lassen, könnte ich einfach nur 20Mal gegen die Wand rennen...
Meine Mutter ist ein totaler Frischling in Sachen Computer und da sie auch nie Bock hatte die Treppe hoch ins Computerzimmer zu laufen, hat sie Computersachen immer andere erledigen lassen. Nun hat sie im November ein Notebook bekommen und sitzt fast jeden 2. Tag davor. Ich habe ihr Ubuntu installiert und beigebracht und dazu OpenOffice.
Nun soll meine Mutter also zu diesem Lehrgang um eine völlig veralteten (zumindestens laut M$) Version zu lernen...
Ich frage mich, warum setzt man nicht einfach OpenOffice ein und lehrt die Mitarbeiter auch darin. Dann hätte es wenigstens auch Sinn für den privaten Bereich und man würde somit gleich den Mitarbeiter etwas mehr Zufriedenheit (Die momentan sowieso arg zu wünschen übrig lässt...) geben, weil sie es auch Privat anwenden können.
Woher sollen den die Mitarbeiter pirvat legal eine Version von Word 2002 herbekommen?
Das schlimmste daran ist: Das Word wird wirklich nur zum tippen benutzt. Kein anderes Programm ist davon abhängig usw... Also man müsste, außer auf den Rechnern OpenOffice zu installieren, kein Stück Migration betreiben...

Ich finde die Fragestellung gut und wichtig und würde es stark begrüßen, wenn du dieses Thema weiter verfolgst. Natürlich ist diese Mail an die FSFE-Liste nur zum "Frust ablassen" geeignet. Etwas bewegen kannst du nur wenn du dich an die Verantwortlichen der betreffenden Einrichtung wendest.
Da ich die Rahmenbedingungen nicht kenne ist es schwer eine Erfolgsprognose abzugeben. Wenn es wirklich nur um eine Einrichtung mit 4 PCs geht und nicht um einen größeren Rahmenvertrag, halte ich die Erfolgsaussichten für sehr groß. Deine Argumente (sachlich vorgetragen) sind prinzipiell erfolgversprechend. Ich würde mich durchfragen, wer für diese Entscheidung zuständig ist, zuerst höflich nach den Hintergründen der Entscheidung fragen und dann folgende Bedenken vortragen:
* Es wird ein eine Anwendung geschult, die man nicht mehr kaufen kann. Der Schritt von Word 2002 auf Word 2007/2010 ist gewaltig. Siehe Freiburg: http://www.pro-linux.de/news/1/16651
* Es wird eine Anwendung geschult, die man sich nicht für zu Hause kopieren darf. Ich hatte in einem ähnlichen Fall (neue Rechner für kirchliche Kindergärten beschaffen) mit den Argumenten Erfolg und die Erzieherinnen dort arbeiten jetzt (meiner Einschätzung nach zufrieden) mit OpenOffice.org.
Problematisch war in meinem Fall eine Spezialanwendung zur Arbeitszeit- Planung, die auf einem Excel-Makro-System aufgebaut hat. Glücklicherweise gab es just zu dem Zeitpunkt eine neue Version, die mit OpenOffice.org zusammen arbeiten kann.

Ich finde mündlich ist wesentlich erfolgversprechender weil es sympathischer rüber kommt, wenn man den Verantwortlichen zuerstmal nach seinen Beweggründen fragen kann.
Wenn man ihm einfach unpersönlich was hinlegt klingt das so ein bisschen nach formaler Beschwerde und nicht danach dass du ihm eigentlich nur helfen möchtest.

Ich finde zumindest für solche Anwendungsfälle (bei Erwachenen) diese Abwandlungen nicht besonders sinnvoll. Lasst die Leute etwas lernen was sie auch langfristig in der selben Art bedienen können. Bei OOo4Kids hätte ich, ohne das Projekt zu kennen, ständig die Angst dass ich neue Features von OOo nicht zeitnah einsetzen kann.

Das bleibt deine Entscheidung. Ich sehe kein besonderes Problem drin, sich da als Angehöriger einzuschalten ("Ich haben gehört, Sie möchten meiner Muter und ihren Kolleginnen eine Word-Schulung spendieren. Meine Mutter ist etwas verunsichert, daher würde ich sie gerne dabei unterstützen. Besteht die Möglichkeit, mit Ihnen vorab über die Ziele und Inhalte dieser Schulung zu sprechen?").
Aber klar, deine Entscheidung. Hängt ja auch nicht der Weltuntergang vom Erfolg ab. :)

Danke werd es mir anschauen. Wieso steht denn auf der Homepage, dass es eine DE Lokalisation gibt? Meine Mutter arbeitet mit verhaltensauffälligen oder behinderten Kindern, von daher wäre ein komplettes Deutsch nicht schlecht. Aber werde es mir mal heute abend anschauen und zusätzlich bei meiner Mutter installieren :)
